JohnRich 4 #8 November 27, 2008 QuoteJobless benefits? Isn't that an oxymoron? No wait, Bush signs bill... that's an oxymoron !!!! You're not making sense. Why don't you slow down and try telling us specifically what you think is wrong with the news story. Every president does this every December, because otherwise the opposition party would make headlines by claiming that the president was a cruel heartless Scrooge for cutting off people's unemployment benefits during Xmas. The lesson to learn from this, is that if you're going to get jobless benefits, get them so that they'll normally run out in early January, so that then when the president extends them, you'll get an extra three months that you don't really deserve. It's the Bonfire, not Speakers Corner.... take it with a pinch of humor, the way it was meant to be.... SuFantasma 0 #11 November 27, 2008 Nah, it's meant to be commentary on the style of writing headlines, not on the content of the headline itself ..... a suffixed negation (jobless paired with an antonym of loss of benefits .... Oh well, not a good time to poke jokes at headlines....Y yo, pa' vivir con miedo, prefiero morir sonriendo, con el recuerdo vivo". - Ruben Blades, "Adan Garcia"

You havn't a clue of how it works. You file a claim when you get LAYED OFF. Not when you want to. And a extension started this July. This is the second bill signed. Here is a start. http://www.edd.ca.gov/Unemployment/Extended_Benefit_Information.htm Economy doesn't pick up I can ride the new claim I just filed when that extension ran out then a second and a third right now. Think we ain't in a recession? Const. suckin right now.I hold it true, whate'er befall; I feel it, when I sorrow most; 'Tis better to have loved and lost Than never to have loved at all. mpohl 1 #13 November 27, 2008 Never felt that need; truth to be told, if I were 20 yrs younger I'd probably emigrate to Latin America rather than the US. I think Middle and South America are underrated: forget about Asia. And the women...need I say more? You are still an idiot, Jorge, but at least your Spanish is better than mine. Best wishes.
