QuoteBut what would you expect from a terrorist group turned government?
History shows us that, that is what the first Israeli government did too.

QuoteBut WHERE in all this international outrage, condemnation, and protest directed at Israel has anyone admitted that Hamas shouldn't be firing rockets into Israeli cities ?
The same place as all the international outrage at Hezbollah lobbing rockets from Lebanon into Israel before Israel finally invaded to put a stop to it. Can you say deja vu?

Quoteyou makin fun of my crest?
No, just noting that it would be physically impossible to do that with 3 normal flat rings.
So, um, in a way, maybe that was making fun of your crest...

Apparently there were 20 commandments to start with, he dropped and broke 10.

It is written that when Moses came down the mountain his fellow Israelites asked him how he did.
Moses replied ,"the good news is I got him down to ten. The bad news is adultery is still in."
Thank you. I needed that.
Is that a line from the Mel brooks movie?

QuoteQuoteHey there cousin,
My family on one side are also Neal's (My Maternal Great grandmother.) Actually they were originally O'Neal. The dexter red hand on the sheild is from Ulster/Northern Ireland and the family originated in Co Tyrone (Which is known as the O'Neal county) When many Irish moved out from Ireland there was allot of discrimination against the Irish and to get a job many had to Anglasies their names by dropping the O' (Meaning son of). Hence Neal from O'Neal.
Oh for fucks sake.. you mean I am related to you AND Mikee
< walks off kicking little rocks and muttering>
Well, if you go back far enough we are all related. At some distance (in terms of number of generations) it is pretty meaningless.
Also, beware of the enlightening and interesting information available from many ancestry websites. Most of them are peddling generic BS that is little better than a horoscope. Names can get morphed badly during migrations, records for common folk are pretty scarce prior to 1700, and the scammers in that industry know people will be so tickled to find out anything about their ancestors.
If the story behind a family is solid, then there should be plenty of documentation. If a person is serious about knowing their family background, demand the documentation.

QuoteQuoteQuoteThanks, I though so too. So Marg have you got a family crest or Coat of arms too?
Not one of which I am aware.

Obviously you eschew research. Pity.

There is most likely a site that can provide one for you; as well as the opportunity to purchase coffee mugs, plaques, welcome mats for the front door, and a boatload of other heraldic baubles and trinkets.
There are even scammers that can set you up with a vacation back to the castle your family came from - - despite the fact that very very few families can be proven to have ever lived in a castle.
Those companies are one rung above the ones that will put your name on a star for $19.95.

Hmm. I guess it's not that simple after all.

Two groups with a relatively recent common ancestry insist they are the rightful owners of some promised land.
(I consider it relatively recent since they seemed to have take up arms so soon after becoming distinct groups).

Quote>Israel tried the live and let live thing . . . .
Hmm. I guess it's not that simple after all.
Been going on way too long to be simple. IMO, it's been going on way too long for the "We were here first" arguement to have any validity.
That land has been bloodied, captured, scorched, occupied, etc so many times that who did what to who first is no longer relevant. Pursuing a solution thru such means also guarantees there will never be a solution.
I'm thinking the best strategy for the time being is for all parties that do not actually live there to get out and stay out until the locals have settled their little family squabble.
Israel tried the live and let live thing for quite a while. It didn't stop the idiots in Gaza from chucking missiles over the border. Hamas has fired over 3,000 bombs into Israel over the past 4 years with no retaliation...until now. I repeat - 3,000 bombs!
Some people forget that Israel is always the force that adheres to cease fires when Hamas does not. But what would you expect from a terrorist group turned government?
