The resulting pollution will further melt the ice caps eliminating the need for an icebreaker. I just saved the country almost $500million. We spend less on air conditioning, thus are less dependent on foreign oil. Duh. I am so alone.

chuckakers 425 #14 February 6, 2009 Quote I wonder how different this list would have been if McCain were elected. Chuck are you the Chuck I met last weekend? Yes I am, and I bet the list would have looked quite different, but the bill to us would have been just as high. It's looking more and more like a lot of this stimuloot package is made up of paybacks. In this case it's a dem pres and a dem majority in the house doing the paying, but I doubt anything would have been different under McCain except who would be getting the money.Great to meet you. happythoughts 0 #19 February 6, 2009 Quote$6 billion for university building projects $15 billion for boosting Pell Grant college scholarships $4 billion for job-training programs, including $1.2 billion for “youths” up to the age of 24 A common complaint has been "we need more univ graduates", but there has not been enough seats. Students being turned away. More univ building projects means more seats and more construction jobs that have to be done on site, in the US. Pell Grants help kids get educations. I got one. I would love it if they increased the amount. Job programs provide training. "Sorry, we can't hire you because you have no experience." "How am I supposed to get the experience?" Even for college grads, I have heard the same thing.

chuckakers 425 #24 February 9, 2009 Quote this is just peanuts compared to what your country spends on the military or the war on terror or the wars in afghanistan and iraq. quit whining Why is it that when libs disagree with something the government does, they are exercising free speech. When a conservative does it, it's whining? Hmmm. I think spending money freeing oppressed people from an insane dictator who gassed his own citizens and operated rape rooms, and hunting down the people who blew 3,000 of my countrymen to dust is a good thing. Conversely, spending $50 million for the National Endowment for the Arts and $4.2 billion for “neighborhood stabilization activities” (can you say ACORN) is idiotic when times are good, and absolute lunacy given the country's current financial situation. Most of the stimuloot package is nothing more than a payback to those who got Obama elected. $260 million for Hollywood movie houses for film? I think you are right. Asked about Buy American on Tuesday, President Barack Obama told Fox News that "we can't send a protectionist message."
