Andy9o8 2 #2 February 9, 2009 Wow - a Democratic President favoring unions. Who'd-a thunk? Good thing Republicans never try to bust-up unions. All that stuff Ronald Reagan did to unions as governor and president must have just been myths. Don't like it? Do better at the polls in 2012. But for 2008, the people have spoken, and it wasn't by the slim margin of a couple of hanging chads.

Yeah!! Why should liberals have a corner on the market on hating America? Conservatives can hate it, too!

Hating unions and Presidential orders backing union contracts is just a tad different than hating America. I'll assume you were just trolling a litte bit. -------------------------------------------------- Stay positive and love your life.

Hating everything the country does and blaming it for the problems of the world does equate. I didn't say anything about the left. Nor have I ever said the left hates their country. Nice attempt at a cheap shot though. -------------------------------------------------- Stay positive and love your life.

billvon 3,070 #12 February 10, 2009 >Oh for fuck's sake bill. You're just being antagonistic. Can you really not see that hating everything your government does domestically is no different than hating everything your government does internationally? To many people who supported the war and the last administration but do not support the current government (to avoid labeling anyone) they wear their hatred of the government as a badge of pride, and take every opportunity to tell everyone how incompetent, ineffective, idiotic, evil, socialist, greedy and draconian the government is. At the same time they enjoy asking other people who object to, say, the Iraq war why they hate america so much. Such claims, of course, are the height of hypocrisy. I was hoping that people were starting to see that - but I guess not.

FallingOsh 0 #14 February 10, 2009 Quote Can you really not see that hating everything your government does domestically is no different than hating everything your government does internationally? Sure, I can see that. In neither case does that mean someone hates their country. It means they disagree with the government. Someone who hates everything about our country does, in fact, hate the country. Quote To many people who supported the war and the last administration but do not support the current government (to avoid labeling anyone) they wear their hatred of the government as a badge of pride, and take every opportunity to tell everyone how incompetent, ineffective, idiotic, evil, socialist, greedy and draconian the government is. Disliking the government's actions doesn't equate to hating the country. Quote At the same time they enjoy asking other people who object to, say, the Iraq war why they hate america so much. I'm sure there are people who do that. I've never heard it said in any reasonable argument. (Note that most arguments on here are not reasonable.) QuoteSuch claims, of course, are the height of hypocrisy. I was hoping that people were starting to see that - but I guess not. I'm sorry to disappoint you way up there on that horse. Disliking the executive order supporting unions doesn't mean someone hates the country. That's my original statement. Hating everything the country does and has to offer pretty much defines hating the country. I said nothing about the Iraq war, the economy, left, right, Bush, Obama, likes, and dislikes... I've never said that someone from the left hates the country because they don't support the war. If you converse with people who make such claims then you should find another audience. I'm not the right wing. I don't represent anyone but myself. You, for some reason, felt the need to make a snide remark about the righties finally getting it. I've never made such claims or accusations about someone hating the country. If you want to freak out on the righties who make bullshit statements like that then go ahead. Don't pick stupid fights with me because I'm the first Republican to come walking by. -------------------------------------------------- Stay positive and love your life. TheAnvil 0 #16 February 10, 2009 I'm talking bottom line for the taxpayer and forced theft of salary to by forcing it into pension funds that the victims will never be able to access, but unions will. How nice. Theft by gov't fiat. WRT the election, the left won - and not by a Reagan-esque landslide as the left-media would have everyone believe. So what? Does that give them a mandate to increase costs for gov't projects? In your mind I suppose... Reagan did the right thing with the unions, as did GWB when the piece of shit longshoreman's union decided to sucker punch us and he invoked Taft-Hartley. Like I said - another 'fuck you' for the taxpayer. It's over and done with - now I suppose the left can focus on spending the $$ into the abyss and giving welfare to people who don't pay taxes, while referring to that activity as tax cuts so fucking idiots will consider it economic stimulus vice welfare! Taking from achievers...motivating, eh? [barf]Vinny the Anvil Post Traumatic Didn't Make The Lakers Syndrome is REAL JACKASS POWER!!!!!!
