The Gitmo guards may have been guilty of cruelty and prisoner abuse, but they should be tried and convicted before going that far with them.

Good point. Real Americans, you know the ones who support the Constitution, would never condone depriving someone of life, liberty, or property without due process.

I guess Texans don't fit that description.

I guess Texans don't fit that description.



FDR didn't think enemy combatants were alowed constitutional rights and privliges and were only subject to the geneva convention and we should hold that belief today.

And if Bush had said that the Geneva convention applied, there wouldn't be as much hue and cry. However, he tried to make it so that neither the Geneva convention nor the Constitution applied, and that's an issue for a lot of people.

Geneva Convention rights would be an improvement over the Bush/Gonzales doctrine.
