My own scientific studies prove conclusively that flatulence at high altitude breaks down ozone faster than flatulence at sea level. And even though I just made that up, it has as much scientific validity as the article in question (i.e. none). But yeah, skydiving is bad for the environment - airplanes taking off and landing all day. That takes more fuel than cruising at altitude. BASE - good for the environment. We are traditionally the "end of the line" for retired engines, airplanes and technologies. If a new fuel comes along that requires $350,000 in engine work to convert over - who's going to do it? A DZ who spends $2000 on fuel a week - or an airline that spends $600,000 a week? Take a look at car gas STC's. Available, approved and allows aircraft to use regular old (cheaper) motor gasoline.
