434 2 #51 April 28, 2009 QuoteNo no no, you've all missed the true reason. Swine flu was created by Obama to deflect media attention away from focusing on his horrible first 100 days in office. On the bright side, maybe it will make people actually get serious about stopping illegal immigration from Mexico. Obama did horrible? If your country did not need illegal immigration from Mexico, it would have been stopped for a long time ago.

MakeItHappen 15 #58 April 28, 2009 This video is interesting. At 1:16:12 it talks about a crop of soybeans that had to be destroyed because it was contaminated by a pig vaccine. I don't know if everything in that video is true, but here is an article on the pig vaccine. It sure would make a plausible reason why human, hog and avian flu viruses are in the current swine flu. Somewhere in the video they mention how much genetically engineered corn is imported from the US by Mexico and that certain varieties of corn are classified as insecticide by the FDA. The video is well worth the watch, but I have no idea how much of it is true. Now if only this swine flu could kill off the pork in the US budget. Oh yeah the movie talks about the US subsidies given to farmers. .. Make It Happen Parachute History DiveMaker

"I find it interesting that it was back in the 1970s that the swine flu broke out then under another Democrat president Jimmy Carter." - Michele Bachmann Of course, the 1976 swine flu outbreak started under Ford, a Republican. There was also one under Reagan in 1988. Not that any of that matters, since who is in the White House plays no part in causing the swine flu. Minnesota, you really need to get Bachmann out of Congress. It's just embarrassing.
redlegphi 0 #61 April 30, 2009 And as far as where the swine flu actually came from, the best theory I've seen is CAFOs. You stick a shitload of pigs in an extremely small space, pump them full of anti-biotics, and store their feces in a shit lagoon that can contaminate local water supplies, and it's only a matter of time before the flu mutates in the pigs and then jumps over to the human population. Thanks again agri-business!
Andrewwhyte 1 #62 April 30, 2009 Anti-biotics have nothing to do with virul development. They also have nothing to do with fighting viruses.
redlegphi 0 #63 April 30, 2009 QuoteAnti-biotics have nothing to do with virul development. They also have nothing to do with fighting viruses. Pumping a herd of pigs in close proximity to each other full of antibiotics for no good reason will result in antibiotic resistant bacteria developing faster in that herd. Those bacteria will then follow the exact same path that the swine flu virus has to the human population. So yes, the antibiotics aren't part of the swine flu problem, but they'll be causing similar issues down the road.
