FallingOsh 0 #26 May 2, 2009 Closest thing I could find: If Chrysler and Fiat can work out an alliance, Chrysler would be run by a new board appointed by the U.S. government and Fiat, Chrysler's CEO said in a message to employees. That's all the article said and it was posted April 17th. Not sure if that was before the UAW was at 55%. I wonder if they get the approving vote on who the government decides to put on the board. Thats fucked up. -------------------------------------------------- Stay positive and love your life.
billeisele 130 #27 May 2, 2009 the banks should have been allowed to fail many on Wall Street should have been arrested, the salaries and bonuses are so far away from reality the auto companies should have been allowed to fail compensation in many of these jobs simply can't be supported by the system, it seems silly that an autoworker inserting a seat in a car makes significantly more (about 35%) than a lineman working on electric power wires, the lineman has significant skills and education and works in a lethal environment, the autoworker is in the AC, requires little skill and only risks getting bored some of these folks need a reality check, otherwise no one learns any lessons, it will happen againGive one city to the thugs so they can all live together. I vote for Chicago where they have strict gun laws.
Gawain 0 #28 May 2, 2009 Let's see, company gives the union workers 55% majority stake for concessions amounting to a few hundred million per year, while asking bond holders, who have billions on the line, to take less than 35 cents on the dollar up the @ss... If I were a bond holder, I would be doing the same thing. The federal government is still going to infuse more money, Fiat gets to do their bit...clusterf**k in the making. It's as if it was orchestrated. This will be the first real experiment of a union run, union led, union owned major corporation. Chrysler will only survive with its government sugar momma, and you will see union encroachment in areas that will not be helped by union activity (like parts of management, engineering, etc).So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright 'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life Make light! I wonder how long it will be if ever until the 15.4 billion dollars is repaid. Soon the union will own two of the three. Gotta be a good thing, right? I'm actually kind of interested to see what the union does when it becomes the management. Sounds a lot like this, doesn't it? Holy mackerel, Agnes, the workers have taken over the means of production!

Then they can fire themselves for not returning to work. -------------------------------------------------- Stay positive and love your life.
Deci 0 #31 May 4, 2009 Quote I wonder if this means they won't be able to hire debt collectors that can barely speak english? A lot of personal that i have worked with in the past have fallen on hard times and they tell me the people who call them relentlessy can't even speak english very well. They call them busting their chops about late vehichle payments. They have got some nerve. I understand your point about the bad english, but if you are late on a vehicle payment, then you broke a contract. It's not your vehicle - it's the lender's. Not till you've paid every last cent. I bet these people that pay late have huge Credit Card debt too...
