Unintended Consequences ...

That's outstanding. So much so that I stole it and tossed it up on Facebook.

What I don't understand is how the kings and surenos keep shooting at each other with 9mm. Where the F*** are they finding 9mm? Its sold smooth out 9 times out of 10 when I'm at the store.:D

I only have 1 that is 9mm, so I'm not worried about it. If I had reasonably priced .380, then I could make a small fortune reselling in this area!

At least we can still get .223 for now and I have just about all the .40 I can shoot available.:)

here also - 9mm is hard to find, 380 is impossible, can occassionally find 40, some 45, plenty of 5.7 and plenty of 270 WSM

at some point the folks that are storing it will stop buying, not sure I'd want to be a fireman when this stuff starts going off
Give one city to the thugs so they can all live together. I vote for Chicago where they have strict gun laws.

I can get all the .222, .243 and 30-06 I could want. No 9mm, no 45ACP, no .223

Where are you getting .223? Everyone online seems to be out of all but TAP. And maybe steel stuff.

Not that I need any at the moment. I haven't had time to go shooting for over a year. [:/] But IF I was shooting like I used to the 5000 or 6000 rounds I have would only last a couple months or so.

I got 1200 rounds of 9mm white box just before everybody online and local ran out. But, again, if I was shooting thats two trips to the range.:)

There's a handful of sources on the internet that have some available. I snork a reasonable amount of ammo while burning up a lot of ammo at my office's monthly range day. The rest I pick up a few boxes at a time from local shops.

Its not like last year when you could walk into Gander Mtn and buy two cases of .223 with no problem.

Don't know about all the other people outside of the US but I don't get the joke??? Have firearm sales gone up? If so why?

Yes, they've gone up out of fear that Congress will do something to restrict gun sales, but currently even the person most likely to spearhead any such bill has said they have bigger fish to fry right now and it's off the table until a number of things settle down.

Still, gun shops and web sites continue the fear mongering because . . . it's damn good for sales.

Your statement is illogical. You start out by making fun of the gun buyers as if their fears are unfounded. And then you conclude by admitting that their fears are really justified.

And since the fears are indeed justified, the time to buy guns is now, not later when it's too late. Therefore, the gun-buying behavior is perfectly rational.

Woah. What a wise advice. Folks, buy guns! Go and bunker guns! Of course, do not spend your money on debts, interests on debt, food or similar needless BS - no: Buy guns! Before shortage does occur: Buy guns!

Perfectly rational.

.

Huh. Some of us are fiscally responsible and don't have to worry about the other stuff. Its all in our budget with room to spare.

A Glock 17 full capacity magazine currently sells for around $25. During the last AWB the USED full capacity magazines were selling for $85-100. That was in the 90s when demand was lower. That's a quadrupling in value. That's a pretty decent investment. There are few things as recession proof and as valuable no matter what society does as quality weapons, magazines and ammo. That's rational people, not even the "TEOTWAWKI" extreme.

For everyone else, i got WWB 100 packs of 9, 45, and 40 just yesterday at my local academy. They also had about 900 rounds of monarch brass .380 but i don't need anymoreB|

Do you think it's more wise to wait until after the shortage occurs to try and buy them?

When you invest in the stock market, is it wise to buy high and sell low?

When a hurricane approaches, do you wait until after the power is out everywhere to try and fill up your gas tank?

When your kitchen catches fire, do you then drop your apron and run out to the store to purchase a fire extinguisher?

Do you wait until you're dead to buy life insurance?

Good point! That's always a good idea. For example, if there is any risk at all to your bank, it is best to go to it and pull all your money out immediately. That way, if everyone does what you do, you'll get your money and they won't. I can see no possible downside to that behavior.

So it's more important for the banks to have all the money, than the people to whom it actually belongs?

Actually, it's important for people to have access to their money _and_ it's important for banks to be able to remain open.

{Jimmy Stewart voice} well, uh, I don't have your money here... It's in John's house, and Norm's barn, and the Johnson's store, and Bill's farm....

Id like to ask a question with no ulterior motive other than knowledge acquisition. I support everyone's right to have as many guns as they want.

Do firing ranges collect and resell lead? I know the brass is (or at least can be) reused/recycled. I'm wondering what the supplyline choke point is. Is is the powder, lead, or simply manfacturing time?

So we should quit buying out all the guns, because it's important for gun stores to maintain an inventory, so they can continue to sell people guns?

Do you see how silly your circular reasoning is?
