Should Sen. John Ensign resign from the Senate?

Recommended Posts

Time for you to leave, dirtbag.

Why aren't the rightys demanding his resignation?

Must be that hypocrisy stuff that Mike doesn't comprehend.

For the Google search challenged, here is the definition -

hypocrisy

1. a pretense of having a virtuous character, moral or religious beliefs or principles, etc., that one does not really possess.

2. a pretense of having some desirable or publicly approved attitude.

3. an act or instance of hypocrisy.

Synonyms:
1. See deceit.

When are you going to demand that "Cold Cash" Jefferson resign?

When are you going to demand that Sec'y Clinton resign for her racist remarks?

Anything less would be that hypocrisy stuff that *you* don't comprehend.

I didnt even know this happened. I think he should quit. He's a low life piece of shit and needs to go. To bad he wont. He will cry, go on Oprah and ask for forgivness from his wife and the dumbasses in his state will re-elect him again.
If you find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck!

Let the voters decide if he should keep his job. Considering he's from Nevada....I'm betting they don't give a shit. Nor do I.

Largely concur, although I probably wouldn't make the same word choice.

I have more issue with some of his positions regarding Yucca Mountain and international institutions. But it should be up to the Nevada voters, imo.

If he banged a subordinate I think he should resign.

If he is true to his statements he better fucking resign.

I didn't think Clintonshould have redigned because of an affair. I thought he should have resigned for an affair with a subordinate and for lying about it and obstructing a civil investigation.

But I think an affair is not reason unless your position is that it IS a reason.

First he'll go to rehab.

Don't forget Gerry Studds. He had an affair with a subordinate, received a standing ovation afterwards from his fellow left wingers, and was re-elected six more times by the democrats.

Then again, there are so many hypocrites among the left...hard to remember all of them...Gerry Studds just popped into mind.

How 'bout that Studds fellow, funjumper? Should the Republicans emulate your beloved Democrats and give Sen. Ensign a standing ovation for having a sexual affair with a subordinate? I won't hold my breath waiting for an answer.

I don't care what the man does in his private life, it's his positions on issues that matter to me with elected officials. Let his constituents decide.

As long as the scumbag Roland Burris keeps his senate seat, it's hard to get overly concerned about a senator's marriage infidelity. Give me a break.

During the recent confirmation hearing for the DoD Director of Defense Research and Engineering (DDR&E) nominee, Burris who's on the Senate Armed Services Committee (SASC), didn't realize that the DoD has research labs. Sigh

5 minutes before a DDIF! Your knee is getting faster.

I don't think he should resign. Perhaps it would behoove him to do a little less moralizing on the sanctity of marriage though, and stop with the demands that others resign under similar situations.

For WHAT, having an affair ?? Grow the fuck up. Even though it would mean one less Republic-hole in the Senate, I think it's a ridiculous reason to resign. Everyone knows politicians of any stripe are just like rock stars - they do it for pussy.

If the Republic-holes want to fume about their Christian family value image, that's their fucking problem. I'm enjoying the show. Newt Gangrene shot the family values bullshit in the head when he forced one of his many ex-wives to sign a divorce settlement just as she was coming out of anesthetic from cancer surgery. A devoted family type that Newt...

If Ensign feels so miserable about the whole thing, he can just go out in the garage and hang himself. That's his privilege. But resign from the Senate ? Ridiculous !

Yeah, well I never gave congress too much credit for intelligence. It would be nice not to have them bribing a corrupt governor to get Obama's senate seat then lying about it under oath, though.

The same reason I wouldn't expect one of my coworkers to get fired if he was cheating on his wife - his personal life is no one's business but his own. As long as he's doing his job nothing else should concern me.

Personally, I don't care what any congressman does on his or her time, provided it doesn't affect their job.

The fact that these power-hungry assholes in Washington care more about who is sleeping with who than the issues pertinent to their own job (like the Constitution), just sickens me.

I'll drink to that. Even though I'm a pro-Obama type. Burris is a shitbag too, and a lying shitbag to boot. Why don't we all grow up and admit to one another that ALL politicians are skanky to the core ? But as regular decent hard working types won't step up to the plate, we have to choose which ones we think are the less evil ones. That's never changed - and never will.

Resign because he cheated on his wife? No!
Resign because he betrayed Christian Conservatism? No!
Resign beause he betrayed the voters who were defrauded into thinking they were electing a family values kinda guy? No!
Resign because he banged a subordinate? No!
Resign because he banged the wife of one of his own staff! No!

But this son of a bitch fucked up a perfectly good baseball game. As reported by Fox News. And for that, he must go:

Ensign Affair Affects Congressional Baseball Game

The admission of infidelity by Sen. John Ensign, R-Nev., is sidelining the Republicans' star relief pitcher for the game at Nationals Park, home of the Major League's Washington Nationals.

By Chad Pergram

Wednesday, June 17, 2009

How does the Republican Congressional baseball team spell relief? In the past, Republicans spelled it E-N-S-I-G-N. But for Wednesday's annual Congressional baseball game between Democrats and Republicans, the GOP bullpen will be a little short because of an A-F-F-A-I-R.

The admission of infidelity by Sen. John Ensign, R-Nev., is sidelining the Republicans' star relief pitcher for the game at Nationals Park, home of the Major League's Washington Nationals.

"He's not here. You'd think he'd fly back for the game," said Rep. Joe Barton, R-Texas, the Republican manager.

Known for his versatility on the diamond, Ensign's started at least one game as pitcher for the Republicans. He was scheduled to work out of the bullpen Wednesday.

Now Rep. John Shimkus,R-Ill., will start for the GOP. Reps. Adam Putnam, R-Fla., and Duncan Hunter, Jr.,R-Calif., will be available in relief for the Republicans.

"We'll certainly miss his athletic ability tonight," conceded Barton. "We hope he'll be back next year."

Democrats are favored in this year's contest after a long streak of wins by Republicans.

Oh, by the way, here's my favorite blog-post so far about this:

"Even though"? IMO, the more you are pro-Obama, the more you should hate Burris. He's dragging the guy's senate seat through the mud. I'm sure the president cringes whenever he runs into him.

I have been serving the Lord for 28 years and have been straight, clean and sober for 26. The first two years were devoted to cleaning up and dealing with the value system I learned and internalized from hanging out on the DZ and being a skydiver. Most of my professional career has been as a counselor in substance abuse treatment programs. One thing I have learned from observing druggies and politicians. I know with 98% certainty when they are lying. The telltale sign is that their lips move. ;)

Funny...I don't recall Ted Kennedy resigning from the Senate or Barney (the banking queen) Frank resigning from the House.

Ensign should do exactly what he told Clinton to do after the Monica affair came out. RESIGN.
