It's funny that all of this would go away in an instant if President Obama would simply produce the long form birth certificate.

We should all post our birth certificates online for the whole world to see. That would make all of us feel better about each other. Of course fraud would go way up, but all that matters is our feelings.

If you are running for president yes because you have to be a born citizen.... why is that hard to follow. As for this whole issue..... no matter what it will never stick and Obama is our president. Can you imagine what would happen in the US if he were removed.... the "chosen one". seriously though it would be bad. I have my doubts that he is a born citizen but rather than trying to push something that will NEVER happen why not just look to the future. I know I am and am hoping that one day this country stops being a 2 party system bc both parties are screwed up right now..... it is pretty scary.

-the "long form" birth certificate may list specific witnesses who are still living and who are not named on the "short form" birth certificate. Is it fair to subject those witnesses--who are probably elderly by now--to intense press scrutiny by releasing their names?

I can imagine the exciting testimony this would lead to.

Q: Do you remember the birth of a child 40some years ago?
A: uh, I guess?

how do you cross examine it? Unless you witness the birth of a 3 head baby, or octuplets, why would anything about it be memorable? Or maybe the question I need to ask is who are witnesses? Hospital staff, or relatives? The first group isn't going to remember, and the second group isn't going to say anything to suggest he wasn't born in Hawaii.

The more cynical part of me thinks that they're refusing to release it because they want attention focused on this non-issue while they work on their policy agenda.

OK, lemme get this straight: They're pretending to refuse to enable other people's bullshit, as a way of actually enabling other people's bullshit, so they can enable the bullshitting of other people with their own bullshit. Got it.

I'm not buying into anything, I'm simply saying that this conversation would not be held if he would produce the document.

Don't be so naive. Of course it would still be going on. Just look at the article quoted in the first post. An entire article based on a flat out lie just to try and keep the whole saga going.

It doesn't matter what you produce, the conspiracy theorists will never give up, they'll just tell more lies.

I'm not sure if you quite follow my point. I'm not exactly sure what information is on a long form Hawaii birth certificate from the early 1960's--it varies from jurisdiction to jurisdiction and time to time--but often the long form birth certificate will include names of witnesses--physicians, nurses, midwifes, other informants--who witnessed or were connected with the birth in some way. Those names would NOT be on the short form birth certificate, but the state of Hawaii would already (confidentially) know who they are.

This is all very routine and, yes, 99.9% of the time these witnesses aren't going to remember a thing from a routine birth nearly 50 years ago.

But if BHO were to release the long form birth certificate, and it does include such names of witnesses, then those people are going to be the subject of intense press scrutiny (not to mention conspiracy theorists and various nuts) in the twilight of their lives--even if, as you've correctly pointed out, they have no useful information whatsoever to offer.

That isn't a particularly classy thing to do to such people and it is a good reason for BHO to withhold the long form birth certificate even if he was in fact born in Hawaii.

The 9/11 conspiracy nuts (including our residents here) aren't satisfied with any amount of evidence that could be presented. Spending your time to try to get them to go away is time you could have used for something more useful. Same here.

Produce a peer review of the official nist report, and explain why they took so long to produce the report but could ammened it in a heartbeat when the so called theorists pointed out the flaws.

then we might go away.

That whole thing is a joke!

Written off, the odds are
Astronomically against us

And so we go, on with our lives
We know the truth, but prefer lies
Lies are simple, simple is bliss
Why go against tradition when we can
Admit defeat, live in decline
Be the victim of our own design
The status quo, built on suspect
Why would anyone stick out their neck?

Well he must have been glowing or something at birth.

Whoops.
I mad someone sad.

Let's see, how about...

"With Idi Amin being a product of Chicago politics..."

:o

I mean I only have a few choices here.

Turn that frown upside down! After 9/11 I referred to Bush's administration as the fourth reich numerous times!

Make you feel better? Or does that sort of characterization only work one way?

And yet one more example of politicians saying, "Yeah, well, yeah we know it's 'The Law', but since it suits our purposes, we just won't tell anyone, and we'll try to circumvent it."

If it is law - it is LAW - If I speed, I expect that I will be caught and punished, i accept it. If I steal from someone, I would expect to go to jail, if I did drugs, I would expect the same. It is FRAUD, if it is true, and should be dealt with accordingly.

Right is right and wrong is wrong here. Even if we change the "Born In" law, it is still at this time active. Taking it to the extreme, if I murdered someone and then they made it legal to do so, I still broke the law, and should have to pay the consequences.

You are the only one making these absurd, infantile characterisations.

I live 'next door' to Mugabe. I know what he does. Believe me, I am not mad. I only have pity for people who know not of what they speak, but choose to speak anyway.

Oh, they're important. Conspiracy theories aren't.

Well then - if he would just turn over the documents there would be no theory then would there?

Disproving all of the claims made by 9/11 conspiracy theorists with evidence and physics hasn't made those conspiracy theories go away. Why would a additional documents make this one go away?

Are you kidding? It would get worse! Look at the 9/11 truthers. The more studies that are done, the more they are convinced that it's all a big coverup,

He has produced a legal birth certificate. Case closed.

Well he must have been glowing or something at birth.

BHO's Kenyan auntie, who is in this country illegally, can tell you whether he glowed at birth in Kenya or somewhere else.

For the sake of consistency, did other Presidents show their birth certificates to the public?
Did you see GWB birth certificate?

And McCain played fast and loose with his medical records

And GW Bush did the same thing with his Nat Guard records
