We have not had irony here since 1980 when I was the only practitioner of it, and I stopped as I was tired of being stared at. Side note (and a lil hijack) - I think that Steve Martin did an EXCELLENT job in that movie, but I liked the 1950 version with Jose Ferrer better
nerdgirl 0 #103 July 21, 2009 "A federal judge tossed out a controversial lawsuit Thursday brought here by a U.S. Army reservist seeking to avoid deployment to Afghanistan because he questions Barack Obama’s eligibility as president. "Maj. Stefan Frederick Cook filed the suit July 8 with the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Georgia [Looks like that's over by you [GeogiaDon]. It's not ATL metro area. - nerdgirl] seeking conscientious objector status and a temporary injunction. "'The same Constitution upon which Major Cook relies in support of his contention that President Barack Obama is not eligible to serve as President of the United States very clearly provides that federal courts shall only have the authority to hear actual ‘cases and controversies,’ [U.S. District Judge Clay] Land [a former Republican State Senator from Columbus GA, who was appointed by Pres Bush in 2001] stated in his written order. "'By restricting the Judiciary’s power to actual ‘cases and controversies,’ our founders wisely established a separation of powers that would ensure the freedom of their fellow citizens. They concluded that the Judicial Branch, the unelected branch, should not inject itself into purely "political disputes," and that it should not entangle itself in hypothetical debates which had not ripened to an actual legal dispute.'" billvon 2,991 #104 July 21, 2009 [conspiracy_mode] That just proves that there is a cover-up! The judge refused to hear the case because he KNOWS that Obama cannot defend his forged birth certificate! Why won't they let the truth come out? How long will all you sheeple blindly follow the Great Obama's lies? [/conspiracy_mode]

livendive 8 #122 July 22, 2009 Quote No, I don't. Put it on display some where ... problem solved, move on. Do you expect this of every President? Representatives and Senators too? If I remember correctly, Obama did put it on display on his webpage during the campaign. And he did provide sufficient proof to the government. There is no requirement (and indeed a good argument against) him proving it to each individual according to their own level of satisfaction. I suspect that if there were a legitimate claim, McCain or the GOP would have brought it. They have substantially more resources and motivation than the average tin-foil-hat wearing nutjob. If you think he's now doing something wrong, the burden is on you to prove it. Otherwise, I'll presume him innocent of forgery, impersonating the President, or whatever other unsubstantiated assertion you'd like to make. Blues, Dave"I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" TomAiello 26 #125 July 22, 2009 QuoteThat article is worthless and most likely partisan. I actually read all that guys editorials, mostly because he seems to actually engage in critical thought, which is conspicuous by it's absence in most of the partisan hacks CNN finds to write that kind of stuff. For what it's worth, I also like Ruben Navarette, even though I disagree with both of those guys quite frequently.
