The conservative moron "plan" for the climate change that is happening is to do absolutely nothing.
I approve this plan. For example, the plan was to move into Iraq outside of any convincing evidence of WMD's. The reason was taken from the AGW game plan "we just cannot accept the risk that it may happen."
This is the same thing. What did Bush do? He projects and predicts a worst case scenario. This causes fear among the People. The People then sacrifice logic and common sense. The People approve the expense of money and loss of freedom and approve of even the sacrifice of lives to ensure that the worst case scenario doesn't happen.
And goofy, you're a sweetheart, but calling me a "moron" to say, "let's get in some more evidence and let's see some climate models actually come up with somewhat accurate predictions."
And p.s. To kallend and others. I've been thinking the last few days. Did you ever notice that climate models don't just project a point in the future? They graph them out from a date to another date - maybe 100 years or more out.
If the results in between are inconsequential, tell thosw climate modelers to quit making projections that you say they shoulsnt be making. Project a point 100 years out and use that as the only prediction.
[Reply]There will be no changes of any kind, to anything, no matter what.
Wrong. I object to "there will be changes of all kinds, to everything, no matter what.". Kallend himself admitted that we will be unable to confirm anthropogenic climate change for a very long time.
Goofy - if predictions are science, you might as well go to a Palm Reader. Predictions are but a hypothesis that science either confirms or denies. And the record is pretty shitty. We are between .2 and .8 degrees off of projected warming in the last 15 years. And - no model has predicted change as slowly as we have seen. Not a single one.
If it is unimportant, then we must wait for the end point another 80 years or so down the road. Otherwise, it is a fools errand.
It is why I compare the AGW crows to bible thumpers - anyone who disagrees with their beliefs and predictions is an idiot, ignorant etc.
[Reply]The conservative moron method for dealing with the world. Do nothing, make no changes, and all is well.
Yep. The do nothing, "make no changes, and all is well" crowd were those called unpatriotic for opposition to the Iraq war. Sure, the evidence available proved nothing. Shut up, commie. We cannot afford to do nothing.
I believe that there are many times when acting is worse than doing nothing. Just doing something is the equivalent of giving antibiotics when a stuffy nose develops. You may want to predict it's a sinus infection. It may even make you feel safe knowing that you've received antibiotics. But odds aee it's the flu or hayfever, and you may just be causing bigger problems (I.e.MRSA).
There are countless examples of inaction being superior to action. Of course, most of these are because we don't have facts - just predictions.
[Reply]You actually argue that climate change isn't real.
No. We argue that it is real. What is the effect, extent and cause of climate change is mere speculation. That it is speculation is FACT. This fact is lost on most to propoganda and rhetoric.
So if you think doing something is worth it regardless of cost or effect, I can disagree but respect it. If you propose doing anything off of evidence, then waiting is the reasonable thing.
[Reply]There are so many documented instances of climate change, all over the world, that are fully and completely documented..
Like the Yosemite Valley and the entire upper midwest (was under glaciers several thousand years ago).
[Reply] And you still deny that it is happening.
We don't. We merely deny a preponderance of the evidence (partly on the evudence that we DO have like Yosemite Valley) that it is not natural. I personally think that human involvement is a factor, but as relevant to climate as a glass of water to the human chemistry.
[Reply]Are you a Holocaust skeptic as well?
No. That happened. But, since the Second Coming is merely a prediction as well, I will have substantial doubts about it. And nuclear war happening. And the coming of alien species. These are all variously predicted. But I wouldn't recommend spending 50 trillion dollars in the next forty years to combat alien invasion.
[Reply]According to some published web sites, it never happened.
Jump off of El Capitan. Evidence of global warming. Niagara Falls - evidence of global warming.
[Reply]It has been put up on the Internet, so, by your logic, it is still in debate.
Ok, i will not reply to you anymore
