"they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion"-Obama

Obama to preach his healthcare message to religious leaders

So clinging is cool now? I'm just waiting for my liberal pals to get upset that Barry O is mixing church and state by asking religious leaders to promote a political agenda. That's wrong, isn't it?

No!!! It is only wrong when the action is initiated or perpetrated by Republicans, especially conservative, right-wing, evangelical Republicans. Or, one a lesser scale, when an attorney envisions an opportunity to profit from said action.

I voted for Obama and I dont like it.

I also wonder how any professed followers of Jesus would side with not providing insurance coverage to the poor. Seems like a MAJOR conflict with fundie Christians who try and spout about how they try and emulate the teachings of Christ and yet would deny healthcare to the poor.

How many times has this misconception been addressed?
Provoking a reaction isn't the same thing as saying something meaningful.

You guys and your Obama-bashing spin are un-fucking-believable.

He's got the bully pulpit, he's barnstorming the issue, and he's addressing as many types of audiences as possible, to reach out to as wide an audience as possible. Your weak attempt to spin it this way is really insulting to our intelligence. Come back when you're ready to have an intelligent discussion.

Is this bait?

In my area of operation, when I was working, all the poor people had insurance through Medicaid. Rich people, of course, buy what they need, want and desire. Isn't it the middle class that is having the rougher time of it?

I think you're confusing 'deny' and 'not provide'. Two different actions.

I listened all election to how wrong it was for pastors to promote pro life positions and all of a sudden it's different. Come back when you can defend your position and not just slam and bitch.

It's not spin, its fact. Obama has a rich religious history. First it was "GD America!" Now I guess its "GD you America, but first - be compassionate and give us some more money!"
The forecast is mostly sunny with occasional beer.

It IS just spin. In fact, you've just added your own. As if, by now, everyone who doesn't live in a cave doesn't already know it, "GD America" was said by Rev. Wright, not Obama. (Yes, we know the guilt-by-association; spare us.) So keep it up, guys. Keep using the slogans and spin that Fox News feeds you, that were rejected by the voters in 2008. Keep persuading nobody but your own choir, while most of the moderates, including a hell of a lot moderate Republicans, run screaming away from you.
Please - keep it up for at least the next 4 years.

lets be clear, they didn't run from the spin they ran from what happened the last 3 years of Bush's term, of that most of that was actually run by the dem side in congress. But since bush was potus he got the blame. now people are starting to see what the dem's did and are doing and they like that even less.

Nobody was fed that. That is pure spin bs on your part. Rev Wright said it as you stated. And for 20 years Obama listened to it. That my friend, it the point. Along will all his other great, law abiding, US freindly buddies.

So lets see, he fired the US prosocuter that was investigating Resco. Did you hear that? Or is news like that not covered in the sources you frequent. What do you suppose would have been the reaction had Bush done that?

Aw, I'm not spinning it. I'm just having a little fun with it. But, you believe BHO when he says he had no idea Wright was that radical? Married him and Michelle? Baptized the younguns?

Hmmm. I guess the Force is really pretty hypnotic. Hey lemme ask you something. When Obie Won waved his hand and said "These are not the droids you're looking for," were you the Storm Trooper who said, "These are not the droids we're looking for!" ?
