Edward "Ted" Kennedy, RIP

And this is an issue why? Do you feel that schools in juvie jails should offer a lower standard of education? Mayhaps it's just a little mudslinging to salve your ego over not being able to debate facts in any other discussion you enter.

I am once again attending school, still have nothing but A's, the accrediting agency is the same as it is for Northwestern or UofC.

That agency is the North Central Association (NCA).

They accredit all sorts of schools, including the one in the attachment. :|

How about this one?: http://colleges.usnews.rankingsandreviews.com/best-colleges/chicago-il/iit-1691

Ranked #106. 57% acceptance rate (jesus, my cat could get in!)

EDIT: Ooops, sorry - you teach there! My bad:S

If you are having to attack posters directly then you are violating the rules of the forum. Knock off the personal attacks...

You might take a look at post #78...

#78 is my post as a warning. Let this just be a warning to everyone in the thread about Personal Attacks... if you find yourself talking about another poster more then the subject, its probably a personal attack and don't bother posting it.

Sorry, I meant post #75. Read it.

Touched a sore point there, did I?

It was simply commentary on someone who implied merit of his un-named school by virtue of its having the same accrediting agency as NU or U of C. He chose not to mention that the same agency (NCA) also accredits juvie schools and cosmetology schools, presumably on the assumption that no-one would bother to check.

Merit by association just doesn't work with accreditation agencies.

That is all.

The US Dept. of Education lists 4146 colleges and universities in the USA, so #106 is in the top 2.6%. Your cat Jesus may be smarter than 97% of college age Americans, but can it afford the $38k a year for attendance?

With a 57% acceptance rate, it looks like that's the only question they ask for admission. The classes I took at the county lock-up were tougher to get in than that.

Oh, THAT explains the quality of your posts.

Was your county lock-up accredited by the same agency as warpedskydiver's college?

Yep, the school I attend owns the school you work for.

And yours rates lower.

I guess you think being a good student at my school means nothing at all, or that I cannot possibly be smart enough to go to a decent school and excel.:|

That would show a lack of useful intelligence due to limitations by preconceived notions overriding common sense.

While Godwin's law cannot be invoked because there hasn't been a comparison to Hitler, usually by the time a couple of posters are comparing the (whatever) of their (whatever), any useful discussion is over.

However, I would imagine that since Hitler didn't go to college, none of these institutions would qualify for a Godwinian comparison:P

Yep and Devry University is ranked #69.

The Campus I attend Ranks #1 in the midwest for all DeVry campuses.

So far my Professors have taught at and or graduated from some very prestigious schools.

Cornell, Loyola, Notre Dame, Princeton and a few others.

Keller is no slouch of a school either, I was asked to attend. That was nice of them.

Nah, it was some pay your money paper mill called the "Higher Learning Commission" that also approves Appalachian Bible College and IIT. Both of which I am sure are good schools in their own right. Go figure.

Obviously you are ignorant of the workings of regional accreditation agencies.

The Higher Learning Commission of NCA accredits ALL schools that meet their criteria in Arkansas, Arizona, Colorado, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, North Dakota, Nebraska, Ohio, Oklahoma, New Mexico, South Dakota, Wisconsin, West Virginia, and Wyoming.

That includes warpedskydiver's school, mine, U of C, Northwestern, Ohio State, Michigan State, U of Michigan, U of Wisconsin, U of Illinois, Indiana U, Purdue, Az. State, Iowa State, U.of Nebraska, Case Western, various Bible colleges, liberal arts colleges like Grinnell, Oberlin and Beloit, etc. etc.

You are insulting a whole lot of people with your "paper mill" comment.

Devry is not 69th ranked :http://colleges.usnews.rankingsandreviews.com/best-colleges/national-universities-rankings/page+3 There are multiple schools tied for 68th and then the next one ranked is 71. I get a flier every few weeks in the mail asking me to attend Keller... its not that impressive once you stack it up against other MBA programs.

I'm still lost on how all of this relates to Ted Kennedy's passing.....

Damn! Is there anyone that doesn't meet their criteria? Not much of a special club if everyone's a member. You're correct in that you, hopefully, know more about accreditation procedures than I do. I've always produced or promoted products for a living instead of tonguing the taint of tenure.

It was just my reply to Lyra who said I was throwing stones at kennedy while living in a glass house.

I can only find that either she referred to my military service being like kennedy's or that my academics were like his, or both...:S

If so that would be quite false.

Then someone chose to post about ME and not the thread topic.

That would be a PA
