redlegphi 0 #52 August 30, 2009 QuoteQuoteAs a serious student of history, I thought I would never come to experience what the ordinary, moral German must have felt in the mid-1930s In those times, the "savior" was a former smooth-talking rabble-rouser from the streets, about whom the average German knew next to nothing. What they should have known was that he was associated with groups that shouted, shoved, and pushed around people with whom they disagreed; he edged his way onto the political stage through great oratory. Conservative "losers" read it right now. I hereby invoke godwin's law. Godwin's Law is dead.
Royd 0 #53 August 30, 2009 Your assertion: The FACT is that the literacy rate is far worse than it has ever been in the last 50 years in this country. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- QuoteThat's bullshit. The definition of literacy changes over time, and depending on who's doing the definition. According to some (debatable) sources, 99% of the USA is literate, while according to others it's only about 51%. So it's easy to say that 40 years ago 99% was literate but only 51% is now, but it'd be bullshitI recently met a 12 yr. old boy, in the neighborhood, who rattles off his mental disorders, like a badge of honor; says he makes A's, B's and C's, yet, can't do a simple run up of the times tables. Who's bullshitting who?

Who's bullshitting who? Doesn't suprise me at all. In colleges the ADA requires that we accommodate students who can't read, and students who can't write. I guess at some point will we have to accommodate students who are too lazy or too stupid to learn anything. We will have to give them degrees and they will go off to be airplane designers or surgeons.... The only sure way to survive a canopy collision is not to have one. Royd 0 #55 August 30, 2009 Quote Is there a possible alternative to a fence, which would be equally or more effective but at less cost (not only in $$ but in those other things too)? Yes, and it probably wouldn't take more than a few weeks. Sort of like the State Troopers decide to make it Wolfpack Wed. or Seatbelt Sunday, the Border Control could have Dead Mexican Monday, once or twice a month, without designating the day. GeorgiaDon 362 #57 August 30, 2009 Well, thanks for that constructive suggestion. Aren't you a minister or preacher or something like that? Nice reflection of Christian values there. rickjump1 0 #58 August 30, 2009 QuoteIn another thread, a couple of days ago, I asked you a serious question, about whether you had any realistic, workable suggestion about how to reduce illegal immigration. You never bothered to respond. It's not the first time I asked you an honest question and you disappeared. However you did apparently find time to dig up this little shit-bomb, which you evidently knew was a lie from the start, so you could get a reaction from the "liberals". From this I conclude that you have no real ideas about anything of substance, just an abiding need to nurse your pathological hatred of all things "liberal". Kind of pathetic really. Don Maybe I can help. No immigration reform without DEPORTATION with the use of local, county, state, and federal law enforcement, to include the Army National Guard and a couple of armored cav regiments. DonI'm afraid I don't remember any conservatives advocating summary executions. "Shoot, shovel, and shutup" is a term I have heard locals use for the "wolf problem", and I carelessly applied it to illegal immigration; my apologies. Thankfully, at the moment, I have no neighbors to shoot. The rest of my statement still stands.Do your part for global warming: ban beans and hold all popcorn farts.
