billvon 3,058 #33 October 12, 2009 Personal life aside, I think he would have done a fairly good job as president. He was a thoughtful and dedicated senator and would have brought that to the presidency. I don't think he was the best guy for the job but I also don't think he was the villain this piece makes him out to be.

Those who received a stimulus check were, for the most part, not expecting any such thing until a few months before being pleasantly surprised by some of the funds you and I paid into the treasury. I would say they are the more fortunate members of our society.HAMMER: Originally employed as a weapon of war, the hammer nowadays is used as a kind of divining rod to locate the most expensive parts adjacent the object we are trying to hit. If the country were a business that would be true, but since we just make more money when we run out, there is no connect.
birdshit 0 #43 October 15, 2009 The guy in the article forgot to mention that McCain also eats babies and kittens. seriously though the article was slanted hard, but at the same time all politicians are dirtbags. McCain might just have a more documented history. If you dug enough you could get the same story for 95% of the house and senate. they are all rich, corrupt, corporate owned, halfwit trust fund babies, born with silver spoons in their mouths, went to ivy league schools, got jobs as lawyers or business people as part of the upper crust power elite in this country and then went to politics when it became apparent that being a senator will get you bribes, lucrative lobbying positions after your done, and half price escorts in DC.
