Prime minister Binyamin Netanyahu's spokesman denounces 'propaganda and bias'

Israel refused to accept the findings of a highly critical UN inquiry into the Gaza war and said today it would launch a diplomatic offensive to prevent any risk of prosecutions.

No independent inquiry into the military's conduct during the war last January would be held, a clear rejection of one primary recommendation from the UN report.

The inquiry, headed by a former South African judge, Richard Goldstone, delivered a detailed and damning criticism of the war, accusing both Israel and armed Palestinian groups, notably Hamas, of war crimes and possible crimes against humanity. It was by far the most serious international inquiry into the three-week war, which left 1,400 Palestinians and 13 Israelis dead and which triggered a wave of criticism across the world.

A UN investigation has recommended a process that could land Israel in the International Criminal Court (ICC).

The probe, headed by former South African Judge Richard Goldstone, concludes that Israel "committed actions amounting to war crimes, possibly crimes against humanity" during its Gaza offensive in December last year.

It asks the UN Security Council to call on Israel to conduct "appropriate investigations," to monitor them, and to refer the matter to the ICC if they're deemed not to meet international standards.

The report found that the firing of rockets by Palestinian armed groups also amounted to war crimes, and called for a similar process of accountability for the Gaza authorities.

Curious how your headline only lists Israel. You're a fan of war crimes by the other side, apparently.

Did you folow the link

Here is the title if you didn't

"Israel rejects war crimes findings of UN Gaza inquiry"

and from 2nd post

"UN seeks close Gaza scrutiny
A UN investigation has recommended a process that could land Israel in the International Criminal Court (ICC)."

It seems when a government acts like the people they call terrorist and worst it gets more attention.

Also shooting unguided rockets the only weapon you have is looked upon differently then a capible army who is executing families.

Ah...the defense that its not really a war crime if you commit them less competently. Also, saw nothing in the article about 'executing families.'

I corrected your headline.

Follow the link not my head line.

As stated in post # 4.

You see you spend so much of your time predetermined to excuse all Israel does you don’t even seem to notice the other news organization focus on Israel as well.

One the reasons the focus of the titles is on Israel (follow the link AGAIN) could be because people like you have been making nothing but excuses for Israel, and the united states Veto’s any thing the UN has tried to do to stop their horrific actions.

War crimes are war crimes, and the other side whose had their land takin (the Palestinians and Hamas) is already viewed by much of the west as terrorist. Mainly thanks to the extremely bias news media. Now we are seeing that Israel is accused of war crimes again (its not the first time) basically giving more credit to the way Israel is viewed by the east. A terrorist government and occupying force that is supported by the United States.

So the reason you see the focus on the news titles all seem to say Israel is because they are the hypocrites and every one is getting sick of them getting a free pass to commit war crimes.

You're a bright guy, and you normally have sensible posts on just about everything else; but when it comes to this conflict, your moral compass chronically only points in one direction. All war is abhorrent. Over and over again, you only point out atrocites of one side, and then rationalize the atrocities of the other. There is no moral validity or intellectual honesty to such a position. It's why most of us have long, long since stopped discussing the Middle East conflict with you any more: because it's a pointless exercise.

Whatever.

I think it’s the pendulum effect. It is my understanding that in the U.S. most people already believe that the Palestinians are the terrorist, and Hamas is nothing but a terrorist organization. However Israel is looked at fondly. I believe most look at Israel as morally superior.

The hypocrisy I notice in my surroundings makes me seem on one side. The only reason for that is the other sides crimes Israel are rarely mentioned, and often excused.

Also as we are a permanent member of the UN council we have consistently vetoed any resolution against Israel. So that’s why I might not seem as even on this Issue, and see why it would seem that way as well.

you don't discuss it because to do so you would have to admit that israel is the terrorist here (armed with our weapons)...

executing families? that's wild even for you...

let me use one of the analogies you like so much.
a crime is a crime, right?
shooting someone is a crime. shooting someone who shot you first is less of a crime.
yet again (as always) you take Israel's reaction as the initiative.
so let me remind you (again) that Israel was not in Gaza and Hamas kepy launching thousands of rockets at civilian cities to which Israel had to respond.

and you keep talking as if Israel has special "Hamas seeking" bullets. it doesn't.
when Hamas hides behind families, this is not "executing families" so your little rhetoric tricks simply shows your own heavy bias (which you keep denying...)

They are "gods" chosen people.
And though no one has ever seen this "god" and none of these people appear to have any real connection with the land they occupy other than being "gods" chosen people or have the ability to tan...a key feature to have if one chooses to live int he middle east, we can't question their actions be it right or wrong.
Why? What part of "gods" chosen people don't you seem to get!
Some one's imaginary friend told some one that these were his people and thus were beyond question.
So what they are no better than the white south African government with taking away land and forcing people to live in shanty towns...."gods" chosen people!
And if you don't believe me, just ask "god" he'll tell you!

Hey, i was just in the bathroom going #2 and god spoke to me....why in a mens room while I'm busting a duce who knows he's god....but god says that what he actually said was "These are my chosen potatoes!" not "These are my chosen peoople!"
Huge mistake! I mean after all which people killed off his kid? It sure wasn't the potatoes now was it!
Now good luck prove me wrong.
After all.....how do you know that I really didn't see god?

The UN accuses Israel and hamas of war crimes and the Israelis who are a sovereign nation deny that they will allow any prosecution of thier solders who committed these crimes. The irony oh the irony.

As I recall the RNC also had to answer for it's crimes in the waning days of appartide.
No one's hands are clean in a conflict like this. All should be judged equally.
And as "god" (good luck with any one proving that I am not god) it is my decree!

So Hamas this horrible terrorist organization according to the Israelis. Is no different then there own IDF except the IDF has US support, weapons, and is an ARMY of a nation. I hope you don’t try to deny that in this fight the Palestinians are David and the IDF is Goliath.

Yea I am bias here because people let the Israelis slide over and over again and the people who are hungry, thirsty, and are surrounded by the people who took that land are the ones you view as terrorist.

How fucked up does your reality have to be?

Give me one standard that makes Hamas a terrorist and the IDF not?

You cant we have already been trough this a million times. You have chosen sides simply because or your religion which is a decision not based on fact but at the core its is based on the idea superiority and racism.

Your right I cant argue with that.

I am with you 100%

The difference is we already have people who simply think with no argument that the Israelis are the victims. You live in the US I am sure you know.

This idea is based on no facts but only propaganda. So I point out what we seem to never hear on US media out lets. I believe if the American people knew what the Israelis do and have been doing for the past 62 years they would not want to send Israel our hard earned money so they can cluster bomb schools.

So yes both sides have inocent blood on their hands. But one side is viwed as a terorist and the other not.
