I would love to see it.. the entertainment value would be priceless. If this was their ticket... Obama could have the ratings of Bush at their lowest.. and still win by a landslide. You could bet most of our more vociferous Bush supporters here would vote this for that clusterfuck of a ticket though.

That would be great! It would be like christmas all year for comedians.

Be careful what you wish for ;)

I remember having the same attitude in the late seventies, when Ronald "guvment is the problem" Reagan was considering a run for President, after he had totally devastated California state government. I thought his running would ensure that the Democrats would win because Americans couldn't be so stupid as to elect the guy for President. Well, it turned out very badly, indeed.

Palin/Beck need to be taken seriously. The strangest things can happen in politics, especially in times like these.

Are you one of the Californians that think Pelosi is a right wing devil? I don't think there's a huge portion that believe Reagan devastated California. The economics of the 70s were pretty rough for everything. Carter, as President, got blamed for the entire nation's problems. Even if your belief were widespread, Reagan could only be blamed for CA's problems.

Palin/Beck is basically Goldwater on steroids. Even the GOP wouldn't go for it, and would look for a more plausible candidacy. Generally a party puts up the bozo candidate in an election they don't expect to win anyway. If this is the ticket, then Obama kicked ass in the next couple years.

That's all really true just as I'm pounding the last nail in the coffin - so easy to do if you use basic logic, but, "There I (you) go again."

Other than times like 1860 where the Dems/Whigs fucked everything up so bad that this hate for these was indellible for 52 years, or when the Republican Party led us into the GD, so the Dems won the next 5 in a row or 7 of the next 9 pres elections, anything goes and the improbable can become the probable.

If Al Franken can make it to the Senate...:S:S...

Strange things have happened. I like Beck as a pundit/entertainer...but wow...

So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh
Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright
'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life
Make light!

Granted though Thompson, Reagan, Ventura and Bono had a bit of experience first...

Bono was Mayor before he became a Congressman. President Reagan was heavily involved in politics before he became Governor. Sen. Thompson was a US Attorney, Congressional Staffer, before becoming a Senator. Gov. Ventura was Mayor.

Gandy...well...there's flukes everywhere right?

Franken...nothing...a committee here and there, and an unsuccessful radio host on Air America...??

Beck's slate is even less cluttered...he'd fit in as a democrat...

What? Beck has no real experience in national politics? Sounds like the perfect VP Candidate for Palin. ;)

Seriously, this is just all too easy and it has nothing to do with what you're saying Max.

How about Carl Rove and Lush Rimjob..they both seem to have the same proclivities . Maybe they could double date with Larry Craig and Mark Foley.

Personally I think the smart money in the GOP has already ceded 2012 to Obama. Let Frontier Barbie lose the election and the rational wing of the party can rebuild from there.

Seems premature to give up on 2012 - Democrats cannot successfully blame Bush if the economy/deficit still sucks in 3 years, and if they pass trillion dollar health care plans.

But I see absolutely no signs of life for next year, and it's getting pretty late in the game.

I look forward to Palin running again just for the bumber stickers. When I'm driving it makes it easy to figure out who the idiots are.

So...seriously, your only counter to Obama is Palin? The best the Republican ticket can do is Palin?

McCain must be kicking himself over bringing in that frickin' spokesmodel of fringe right-ism. It's not like the hardcore R's were going to vote for Obama just because a Romney or Leiberman was too moderate. It was a post-Bush election and all that the huge population of middle-of-the-bell-curve Repubicans, Moderates, and Independents wanted was someone who could form a complete sentence and would at least have a plan before invading more sovereign nations.
