she is neither inconsequential nor is she the best shot. she has a very important role to play, and that is lightening rod.

I thought she was the Maverick. Actually she is the distraction from teh aweful reality of the R's.

Quote

she best thing she can do is run for the republican primary. the left hates her so much that they won't be able to help themselves. they'll waste a ton of resources attacking her, only to have someone else win the primary. you guys on the left will consider it a victory, but the truth is she will have served her purpose.

Like I said, before I read this, she is the distraction. She is such a freak show that she does distract from the egregious right.

Pffft. What could possibly happen?

Oh I don't know.... a couple of failed nation buiilding exercises..... a ruined economy... the rich getting very much richer as well as a bunch of friends of the administration making LOTS of war profits

isn't that what is happening now? Obama paying his supporters with stimulus money.

Hypothetically, even if true, the end resultis teh GDP flippng by +10 points is 2 quarters, probably unprecedented. Now let's talk war and oil profiteers and the sector it helps and ultimate result to the economy, GDP, unemp.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/geoffrey-dunn/palins-latest-emrogueem-g_b_373453.html

There have been so many lies and distortions pointed out in Sarah Palin's Going Rogue since it was released last week that her memoir has already become something of a gag line.

As the epigram to Chapter Three, "Drill, Baby, Drill," Palin assigns the following remarks to the Hall of Fame hoops coach:

Our land is everything to us... I will tell you one of the things we remember on our land. We remember our grandfathers paid for it--with their lives.
Only the quote wasn't by John Wooden. It was written by a Native American activist named John Wooden Legs in an essay entitled "Back on the War Ponies," which appeared in a left-wing anthology, We Are the People: Voices from the Other Side of American History, edited by Nathaniel May, Clint Willis, and James W. Loewen.

This is hillarious, her ghost writers are as dumb as her:

Obviously, they didn't get the quote from anything Wooden ever wrote, but from a cute little web site called The Quote Garden. Isn't that sweet?

Just laughable ladies and gents, your 2012 Republican pres idential candidate: Sarah "The Maverick" Palin.:D

Not my Candidate, She is a quiter...I will Vote Against Obama no matter what, but I seriously doubt Sarha has any chance at all to be that person!

She's basically a weak knockoff of Nixon in ways, but she isn't a good diplomat. This thread just ilustrates how much of an idiot she is; she can't even hire good ghost writers.

You're right - they ARE 20 percenters.

:P

1) Love to see yoiur cite. I saw Gallup, but as usual, it would be too honest for you to provide a website addy.

2) So how is it that everyone is turning cons., yet Obama won what, 350 EV's?

I choked down her book. They would have been well advised to give the ghost writer credit on the cover. It was horribly written and only adds fuel to the idea that she is vapid and incapable of running our country.

Edited to change horrible writing.

Thanks for the headup, I don;t think I could stand looking at her mug long enough to keep picking up the book - I won't be reading it.

She's a combination of Nixon, Reagan, and GWB. The idiots WILL vote for her.

That's a good question. They just wanted change, I guess ;)

The graph does, however, fully explain why the U.S. is in such serious trouble now. Conservatism has devastated our economy and our politics over the past 50 years and continues to do so.

Conservatives are very good at changing the subject ;) That's how they can fool 80% of the people most of the time.

Does it hurt to be that clueless? :|

I never mentioned a like or dislike. You made it sound as if he did all of those things himself, giving no mention of his "handlers."

No, that is not what I am asserting. Here is exactly what I said:

at the risk of repeating myself...

Palin in `12 is the best thing that could happen...
for the Libertarian party.

Do you think all the R votes are going that way? Maybe, considering R's and L's are only 3 degrees away. At the end of the day, a vote not going to D or R is watsed, so L's usually go R.

no, but it might make people investigate the other candidates that are running.

And you fucking people with wasted votes. No vote is wasted.

I can read what you explicitly said. I live in TX, but didn't go to a TX High School.

What I was asking about was once it was noted that Politicians are at fault, and perhaps not only conservatives, you slighted the poster insinuating that conservatives change the subject to protect themselves. I infer from this that you don't believe that there were liberal politicians at fault. Thus the question.

You don't have to answer though. Feel free to change the subject again :)

Even my vote to Perot was wasted. He was the closest and he got 19% PV and 0 EV.

Of course a 3rd party did win, the Repubs over the Whigs and knockedthem out. So it is posible that a better party comes along and knocks out the horrible R Party, but I know, you think that's the Libertarian Party. WRONG. They are just a a sick-n-twisted extreme of the R's, just what the country wants to avoid rather than further.

Depends on what one hopes to accomplish with one's third-party vote. If it's to publicly register a protest, or to help build a 3rd party over the long run, or to bleed off votes from a main-party candidate so he will lose (Nader probably hurt Gore; Perot probably hurt GWH Bush), then it's not wasted. If it's in any hope to actually get that candidate elected, it's probably wasted. A few exceptions, like Lieberman, but not many.

I put far less stock in the value of 3rd party candidates than I used to. The simple fact is that in the US, policy is set and governance is done (if at all) by Republicans and Democrats. That's where the power lies, so that's where I want to direct my votes. So to my way of thinking, a 3d party vote is usually a wasted vote.
