CanuckInUSA 0 #202 January 6, 2010 It is at times like this when we should remember that famous "non-politically correct" internet quote: "Arguing on the internet is like competing in the Special Olympics. Even if you win you are still retarded". Of course one of the differences between DZ.COM and other internet blogging sites is that many of us (not all) have met each other in person at the various DZs. But if the internet is supposed to equate to people making progress out there in society, I am not seeing it. All I see is people acting nasty towards others who do not share the same views. I am occasionally as guilty as the next person in throwing crap around, but it is getting to the point where "I just don't care". I am a happier person when I ignore politics, when I ignore the crap being thrown around on the internet. PS: Jon Stewart did an interesting thing on his show last night making fun of people who said things are worse today that they were in the good old days. And then Mr Stewart proceeded to remind us all that the 1990s, 80s, 70s, 60s, 50s, 40s and 30s were all messed up as well. Modern society is messed up (no doubt about that), but at least I don't have to worry about being jailed for being 20 minutes late to work like those who lived under Stalin's rule in the 1930s did. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

EXACTLY... And interestingly enough... most of those who I have met from SC are NOWHERE as nasty in person even if we talk about politics. Now the ones who I CAN"T seem to meet when I have visited their supposed dropzones... and REALLLY do want to meet face to face... never actually seem to be around.. Well except for one particularly nasty "little" mealy mouthed pussy who did show up at a certain DZ.. and was counseled to retract his comments and consider apologizing..he did. I think he still murmers to his fellow "little" buddies.. somehing about intimidating gun toting ex military bitch.. but he is too much of a pussy to do it face to face.... or on here. Ron 10 #205 January 6, 2010 Quote From the link I posted before.. Just because you posted a link does not mean MY use of that term fits YOUR reasons. That is the first major failure of this pathetic logic you are using. 2nd: * rePUBICan in posts made by Amazonreturned 105 results. * RePUBICans in posts made by Amazon returned 94 results *Democrat Party in posts made by Ron returned 10 results... And of those 10, only ONCE did I type "Democrat Party". The other 9 returns were just hits with the words in ANY order from ANYONE in that post. Go ahead, look em up. So ONCE I used a term YOU consider to be derogatory, and 199 times YOU have used a term anyone could see as derogatory. The best you have is ONE use of an accurate "Democrat Party" which you tried to blow out of proportion.... I'd bet he was on his way out of this world, found out how happy you were, and pulled through JUST TO PISS YOU OFF!!! Happy New Year. Like they say, only the good die young. Rush will be here for a while to comment on and make 10's of millions, buit never do anything for America. I call that a parasite. Lucky for you that listening to his BS is purely optional, but him paying more income taxes in one year than you probably will your entire life is not. I personally can't stand to listen to him, but the taxes he pays on those tens of millions sure come in handy for ol' Uncle Sam. And you pose that gives him license to act like a sociopathic asshole? And those advertiser dollars would have gone elsewhere, so who cares they end up with him other than you worship rich people?

I could be remotely construed to sound like DemocRATS an equivalent bash to the other party might be something like RepubliCANTs seems like a lot of good wholesome whining to me How so? The Repubs CAN do a lot of things: - Make HC exclusive - Run the debt thru the roof, then complain the other side is - Cut taxes that lead to destruction of the fiscal infrastructure while the rich run off scott-free - Denounce homosexuality, then commit countless acts of it themselves - Corrupt politics as in the process, Nixon, 2000 Florida, etc - Show us how to lock-step in politics, then blame the left for doing so, which has been refuted via the recent HC legislation So the Republicans really can. Lucky... 0 #221 January 7, 2010 QuoteThis is the USA. Anyone has the license to act like a sociopathic asshole. Some people get paid very good money to do it. The point is, making a lot of money shouldn't justify acting like a sociopathic asshole, some think it does. QuoteYou sure seem to care. The point I was addressing is that just because he pays an average person's lifetime taxes in one year doesn't mean Lush is worth anything; if trhe world was free of its ass-pimple the dollars he gets would go elsewhere, taxes paid by that person or persons. Most countries base a person's worth on their deeds, we base it upon their house, car, etc.
billvon 3,058 #222 January 7, 2010 >The point is, making a lot of money shouldn't justify acting like a >sociopathic asshole, some think it does. Well, making a lot of money justifies it just as well as making no money. But if you get paid to do it, it's a pretty good incentive. >The point I was addressing is that just because he pays an average >person's lifetime taxes in one year doesn't mean Lush is worth anything . . . Well, he's worth something in terms of tax money, book deals, sponsorship etc. You may not like him, but that doesn't really figure into his objective worth. >if trhe world was free of its ass-pimple the dollars he gets would go >elsewhere, taxes paid by that person or persons. I would tend to doubt that. Sure, there might be another entertainer that did what he does, but it's unlikely that if you took all such people away, that tax income would remain the same. >Most countries base a person's worth on their deeds, we base it upon >their house, car, etc. Hmm. He's published two books (both bestsellers) and created a radio talk show. Those are pretty quantifiable deeds to most people. Doesn't mean he's any more right than your average entertainer, but does indicate a level of success beyond "being rich."

Lucky... 0 #224 January 7, 2010 QuoteWell, making a lot of money justifies it just as well as making no money. But if you get paid to do it, it's a pretty good incentive. If a person has no ethics. Also, he did it for free for years I'm sure, building his following, so he is an asshole by nature, just that in the US you can get a following by doing so and hanging an R next to your name. QuoteWell, he's worth something in terms of tax money, book deals, sponsorship etc. You may not like him, but that doesn't really figure into his objective worth. I wasn't saying to take all such people away, I was responding to the other poster's assertion that somehow Lush is important due to his tax dollars. If he wasn't making money that money would go elsewhere and that person or person's would pay the taxs he then isn't. QuoteHmm. He's published two books (both bestsellers) and created a radio talk show. Serial killers also have a big following and many marriage proposals; what are you saying? QuoteThose are pretty quantifiable deeds to most people. Doesn't mean he's any more right than your average entertainer, but does indicate a level of success beyond "being rich." It show's he can influence a lot of followers and/or created a niche/cult based upon his style of elitist-love. Hey, Billy Ray Cirus made it big on one pathetic song; does that mean he's worth listening to? Does it mean he's accomplished anything? No, it means he appealed to a group of idiots long enough to bilk millions for nothing. No one will say BRS is meaningful, but people follow Lush with a cult-like approach, a guy who makes fun of Parkinson's victims....suddenly the BRS followers look intelligent and reasonable.
