Amazon 7 #26 February 1, 2010 Quote as an example for comparison it works it really is terrible of me to assume that most liberals (and all people for that matter) really have good intentions therefore, "good honest" liberals is a TERRIBLE characterization and slam to all the other self gratifying evil ones - so sorry Its ok.. it does fit into my belief that so many "good honest conservatives" in this country would love to get it on with the whole right wing death squads thing.... just like the central american's that were trained at the school of the americas here did after they went home. Most of the same fucknuggets have already done the groundwork of turning all "liberals" (defined by them to be anyone not to the RIGHT of them) into commies and socialists. RonD1120 62 #27 February 1, 2010 QuoteJust shows that no matter how grand the intent, lack of research, planning, and understanding of the situation will probably lead to poor results. This church seems understand the procedures necessary. QuoteChurch working to bring Haitian orphans to Bradenton Monday, February 1, 2010 MANATEE COUNTY (Bay News 9) -- A Manatee County church is taking their relief efforts in Haiti to another level, as they try to bring dozens of orphans to their Bradenton facility. For years, the members of the Christian Retreat Family Church and Gospel Crusade Inc. have been helping residents of Haiti, but after the earthquake, they say their help is needed more than ever. Missions director Ronald Bauza said that, prior to the earthquake, there were 380,000 orphans living in Haiti. Now that number is even higher. Bauza said, at two of the children's homes they work with, the buildings have been destroyed and the children are sleeping outside. The mission is working to bring the orphans to Florida to live at their church. "We're doing our part," he said. "We have a dormitory facility here on grounds that's capable of housing them and we have a cafeteria as well." A church minister is now in Haiti working out the details. If everything goes according to plan, approximately 50 girls and 34 boys will be brought to the church. There is no set date for the orphans' arrival, as church leaders said they are still in the planning stages. They are also working with the State Department on the project More Information Watch the story More stories about the Haiti earthquake Email TV reporter Summer Smith http://www.baynews9.com/content/36/2010/2/1/577523.htmlLook for the shiny things of God revealed by the Holy Spirit. Laszloimage 0 #28 February 2, 2010 "It is unusual for females to be involved in child trafficking." Please don’t take this personally, but it was a very naive statement. Females can be just as bad as males. In this particular case (child trafficking) there’s lot of female involvement in Eastern Europe for sure.
riddler 0 #29 February 2, 2010 QuoteHowever, from what I have seen in my lifetime I believe anything is possible. Yeah, food for thought. I have a wealthy cousin that paid 30K for each of two Chinese girls that they adopted. That was 10 years ago. I have a friend that adopted a Chinese girl last year - over $50K total. Multiply by 15 kids ... a fair amount of money, even if you only pocket half of that. In this case, the Haitian government did the correct thing.Trapped on the surface of a sphere. In my last position I attended a workshop conducted by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement on the subject. The focus was human trafficking in FL and the primary victims were young females. The primary perpetrators were male. I don't see much about female predators in the news. When such a story surfaces it seems to be a mentally ill woman who steals a baby so that she can be a mother. That is about the extent of my understanding.Look for the shiny things of God revealed by the Holy Spirit. They only last for an instant but it is a Holy Instant. Let your soul absorb them. FallingOsh 0 #33 February 3, 2010 QuoteI'm inclined to withhold my judgement. That being said a lot of evil gets done in the name of religion. So does a lot of good. Unless I read wrong, the people attempting to take the children have said they only had the best intentions in mind. They made no mention of taking kids in the name of Christ or that the children must be taken from an evil nation to save their souls. So far, the only information we have is that a group of people was trying to rescue orphans. not that they were doing anything in the name of religion. -------------------------------------------------- Stay positive and love your life. FallingOsh 0 #34 April 27, 2010 PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti (AP) — A Haitian judge said Monday he has dismissed kidnapping and criminal association charges against 10 American missionaries detained for trying to take a busload of children out of the country after the Jan. 12 earthquake. Judge Bernard Saint-Vil said Laura Silsby, the last of the 10 missionaries jailed in Haiti, still faced a lesser charge for allegedly organizing the effort to transport the 33 children to an orphanage they were setting up in the Dominican Republic. Silsby faces up to three years in prison if convicted on the remaining charge, the "organization of irregular trips," from a 1980 statute restricting travel out of Haiti signed by then-dictator Jean-Claude Duvalier. Silsby declined comment from her jail cell. Shiller Roi, a lawyer for Silsby, declined comment, saying he hadn't yet received the judge's written decision. The judge told The Associated Press that the charge of organizing the trip was also pending against Jean Sainvil, a Haitian-born pastor from Atlanta who also helped organize the venture. Sainvil did not immediately respond to message left on his voicemail. http://www.foxnews.com/world/2010/04/26/haiti-drops-kidnapping-charge-missionaries/?test=latestnews -------------------------------------------------- Stay positive and love your life.
