The group of six to eight males followed and then attacked a man who was walking alone near 15th Avenue and East Madison Street just before midnight on Saturday, according to a police report.

The suspects, described as black and between 16 and 20 years old, ran up to the victim and pushed him down, and his head struck the pavement, police said. One of the suspects allegedly yelled: "Give me what you got" and started pulling on the man's backpack.

According to police, the victim suffered facial and head injuries and was taken to Harborview Medical Center for treatment.

About 10 minutes later, police say, they suspect the same group used a broom to attack a woman near 19th Avenue and East Marion Street.

The woman told police she had just pulled up to her home and was getting out of her car when a group of males headed toward her.

One of the men started running toward her with a broom in his hand, saying, "Here I come."

He struck her with the broom, leaving a one-inch cut and a large lump on her head, according to police.

She was taken to Swedish Medical Center for treatment.

On the news last night the 42 year old man was interviewed .... he said they were hunting him as he walked in his own neighborhood ( usually a pretty safe one I would like to add) like a pack of wolves.

maybe that it doesn't take guns to make a bad-guy? Even if you were to successfully take away all guns, and criminals could get any, they'd still have brooms. (and knives, and baseball bats, and shovels...)
