377 22 #101 March 2, 2010 Well, maybe they (Glocks) are all that but they still cost a lot. I did say I liked Glocks a lot and I still do. You could buy Ruger revolvers for your whole family for the price of one new Glock. Your dishwasher experiment. however, has weakened me. Now I want one. AggieDave 6 #102 March 2, 2010 A brand new Ruger LCR .38 is $369 at GT Distributors. A brand new Glock 17 is $398 at the same place. Yup, those Glocks are crazy expensive. Add another $100-ish to go to your normal gun shop. Add another $75 on top of that if you shop somewhere like Gander Mountain.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." rhaig 0 #103 March 2, 2010 I highly recommend GT for firearm purchases. They will sell to the general public. And some manufacturers don't stipulate that they can only pass on their discount to LEOs. Buddy of mine got a sweet deal on a savage arms rifle there Don't expect to get law enforcement prices on everythign though.-- Rob

Glocks are a LOT higher than that at the local gun shop. I'll check out GT. 3772018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968. millertime24 8 #105 March 3, 2010 Yeah man. You can pick up Glock's all day long (in respectable caliburs ) for like $400. My Glock 22 (.40 S&W) bought as used law enforcement for $420. I'll also add that it came with 4 mags (2 10rnd 2 15rnd). Thats a pretty fucking smokin deal on ANY .40 S&W plus you get the reliability and accuracy out of the box that Glock is known for. In other news, I just purchased me very first 1911 .45 auto. I love everything about this gun. Its feel, its reliability, its "badass motherfucker" look, and the range of aftermarket parts to make it better than it already is. I present my brand new Springfield GI model 1911...... Damnit! Now I want another one to build as a progect in orser to make it all it can be!!! Muff #5048
steve1 5 #106 March 3, 2010 It's a shame guns are getting so darn high priced. I was wondering what the reason for that is. Is it because of liability issues? When I was a kid you could buy a Remington BDL rifle for $135. I saved my money and bought two of these when I was a teenager. Now you might pay around $900. for a similiar rifle. I know I am an old fart, but I don't think inflation explains all of that price increase. And the price of ammo is getting ridiculous. I know people are hoarding the stuff. Supply and demand enters into this. Is that the only reason it is getting so spendy....

Here on the other side of the world, I had trouble buying factory 9mm for a competition a couple of weeks ago. The eventual supplying shop said they have had a couple of hundred thousand rounds on order for months, but the majors are apparently struggling to keep up with your domestic demand ATM.regards, Steve the older I get...the better I was

I believe it! But I think it's mainly a Texas thing. When I was in Dallas, I could not find .40 rounds to save my life. They were even hoarding the hollowpoints. But now that I'm in Florida/ Alabama, it's not quite as bad---- no offense Texans, just what I noticed!"If it suddenly ended tomorrow, I could somehow adjust to the fall; Good times and riches and sons of a bitches, I've seen more than I can recall!" The gun goes for $1200 stock, I'm getting it for $1000 modded out!But yeah I just got back from shooting the .45 and holy wow! I was stunned at the accuracy of this gun at 35yds. AggieDave 6 #119 April 5, 2010 Nice semi-race gun. How do you like the trigger on the H&K?--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
wolfriverjoe 1,523 #120 April 5, 2010 DUDE! Dillon is the best out there. You should have gotten the casefeed (that's a 550 right?). It is a bit pricey, but makes the whole operation so much smoother. I have a 650 (had it for about 17 years). Casefeed and powdercheck. If you got it direct from the factory you now have a subscription to what is probably the best catalog in firearms. If you didn't get it from the factory, order something from them so you get the catalog."There are NO situations which do not call for a French Maid outfit." millertime24 8 #121 April 5, 2010 QuoteNice semi-race gun. How do you like the trigger on the H&K? HK is ok, but it doesn't hold a candle to my limited gun. 2.7lb trigger with .025" overtravel. But yeah, the HK is very smooth. Almost as if the trigger goes through the break point vs stopping there then requireing more pressure. Double action kind of sucks though so I just carry her with a loaded chamber, cocked hammer and the safety on. Speaking of safety, the grip safety on the Para has been disabled for easier 'weak hand' shots.Muff #5048

I would like to order a case feeder from dillon, but the auto index of both the 650 and 1050 is what turned me off of those. I like the controll to manually turn the index just in case something isnt quite right like fully seating a primer. And yes, Blue Press is quite possibly one of the best gun porn mags you can get in the mail.Muff #5048

The Dillon usually runs so smoothly that problems are pretty rare, and if there is one, I just pull the problem case out of the shell holder, and run an empty space through. AggieDave 6 #124 April 6, 2010 I really like the H&K USP series, except for the trigger. Its not a good CCW weapon for the bulk, IMO, but makes a good duty weapon. Especially if you need a DA/SA weapon, it makes a better choice then the M9. Now some current or former military type is going to come in here and wet himself all about the M9 and how its the best duty handgun since the short musket.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
