Women to be allowed to serve on USN submarines

Aahh. I guess what I meant to say is that females serving in the military have never gotten pregnant in the history of the US military. It's all either a myth or fake evidence planted by the 9/11 Illuminati conspirators. :D

Thanks for the clarification.:)

or the women can just forget about privacy, that seems to be the big hangup. They can learn to pee and shower with the men or not serve on board.

Better yet, have the sub manned (womaned?) primarily by women. But some men would be allowed to be assigned to the boat, too. Of course, the men would have to give up their privacy hangups. They can learn to pee and shower with the women or not serve on board.

I really don't see a problem with that, when was the last time you heard a guy say " no I don't want to shower with a bunch of chicks?"

i spent 6 years in the navy. there's no fucking way i would want to be stuck on a boat full of navy women.

Women *should* be able to serve in any military position they can qualify for. That said, there should *NOT* be any watering down of the requirements due to gender.

Space is so incredibly limited on a sub that I think privacy is going to be a big issue, however.

You're right, that is an issue. Taking only gay women would solve that problem. (Or straight women/gay men, or all men/all women of any sexual orientation.)

OR REGULAR WOMEN AND MALE ENGINEERS :)

Comes to mind>http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Petticoat Great flick. But in real life. No way Jose. My boot camp had Waves. Lots of trouble. Thinkin more about getting laid than training. But alas. I was young then. [:/]

Agree; I think that's the correct balancing of interests.

I'd like to go beyond that, however: Selective Service (mandatory registration for, and being subject to, the draft) should be universal, and not male-only.

That's a good point, and I agree - I'd forgotten all about Selective Service.

I have been saying that since I was active duty in the early 70's.... but that scares the hell out of the boys.... but thankfully real men can handle being around capable women.

The boys who like to throw around the very tired REMF etc so they can feel all macho and manly and then only date tiny little women so their little needle dicks do not make them continually feel inadequate, are the greatest threat to our military being finally open to those who can do the best job for our country.

I know PLENTY of men and women who could not qualify for many combat roles.... because of physical or mental requirements for the role.

Set a standard and if the trainee wishes to volunteer for the job let them prove themselves.
If I can out run, Out Jump, out shoot and out think you...... I want a shot at the job>:(>:(>:(
