muff528 3 #26 April 1, 2010 IIRC, it wasn't any better than Mexican. Well maybe a little, but definitely not as good as Columbian.
kelpdiver 2 #27 April 1, 2010 QuoteI think the polls are fairly even. I guess I'm just cynical, but hopefully I am wrong. As for the work situation, I think this section covers that (perhaps somewhat vaguely): Quote(c) No person shall be punished, fined, discriminated against, or be denied any right or privilege for lawfully engaging in any conduct permitted by this Act or authorized pursuant to Section 11301 of this Act. Provided however, that the existing right of an employer to address consumption that actually impairs job performance by an employee shall not be affected. With companies already allowed to fire smokers, and federal law still banning pot, I don't see this holding up too well.
LongWayToFall 0 #28 April 2, 2010 It is saying that companies can still perform drug tests and fire employees for positive results. The fact of the matter, is that if the counties/cities DO issue permits for companies to sell marijuana, the feds are going to crack down on those companies so fast, you won't be able to buy it anywhere. What will be nice though, is being able to grow 25 square feet of it in your house, and not getting in trouble for having 1 oz or less.

It could just mean that skydivers (in this forum anyway) are smart enough to see the futility and ridiculous cost of keeping marijuana illegal.

They get you to grow MORE than an ounce and then fine your ass for possession of over an ounce.

(still trying to reconcile the 5'x5' farm with the projected output of the legal 1 oz of harvested product. I think the only way to remain within the legal bounds is to smoke it as fast as it's growing!) Maybe there will be so many peeps growing weed that the federal government will subsidize the growers NOT to farm pot.....just another way to generate a + cash flow into the state. Lucky... 0 #36 April 9, 2010 QuoteI'm for legalization. Banning it has been an epic failure, and we might as well get the tax dollars. Perhaps it will impact the drug cartels as well. While the proposition is probably in conflict with federal law, it will make a statement and perhaps allow California to lead the way in making important changes. I am all for giving people more freedoms rather than less, and against laws to protect people from their own stupidity. Yep, altho some of the biggest POS I know are pot heads, didn't we learn from prohibition?

LongWayToFall 0 #38 April 9, 2010 1oz is what you are allowed to carry on you, outside your home. As far as what you can have inside your home, I don't know. I do know that, currently, possession inside the home is only a fine, although again I am not sure how much you need to bump it up to a misdemeanor. Basically though, you gotta fuck up pretty good to have cops in your house (they won't be there for smelling or seeing weed) anyways, and if the law goes through, I doubt they will give a crap about fairly large stashes. More likely they will be interested in whatever brought them there in the first place. But you are correct about your math, I think 25sq ft is just about right for a 1,000w light, which put out around a pound every 4 months (assuming a good system) correct? LongWayToFall 0 #39 April 9, 2010 Section 3: Lawful Activities Article 5 of Chapter 5 of Division 10 of the Health and Safety Code, commencing with section 11300 is added to read: Section 11300: Personal Regulation and Controls (a) Notwithstanding any other provision of law, it is lawful and shall not be a public offense under California law for any person 21 years of age or older to: (i) Personally possess, process, share, or transport not more than one ounce of cannabis, solely for that individual’s personal consumption, and not for sale. (ii) Cultivate, on private property by the owner, lawful occupant, or other lawful resident or guest of the private property owner or lawful occupant, cannabis plants for personal consumption only, in an area of not more than twenty-five square feet per private residence or, in the absence of any residence, the parcel. Cultivation on leased or rented property may be subject to approval from the owner of the property. Provided that, nothing in this section shall permit unlawful or unlicensed cultivation of cannabis on any public lands. (iii) Possess on the premises where grown the living and harvested plants and results of any harvest and processing of plants lawfully cultivated pursuant to section 11300(a)(ii), for personal consumption. (iv) Possess objects, items, tools, equipment, products and materials associated with activities permitted under this subsection. (b) “Personal consumption” shall include but is not limited to possession and consumption, in any form, of cannabis in a residence or other non-public place, and shall include licensed premises open to the public authorized to permit on-premises consumption of cannabis by a local government pursuant to section 11301. (c) “Personal consumption” shall not include, and nothing in this Act shall permit cannabis: (i) possession for sale regardless of amount, except by a person who is licensed or permitted to do so under the terms of an ordinance adopted pursuant to section 11301; (ii) consumption in public or in a public place; (iii) consumption by the operator of any vehicle, boat or aircraft while it is being operated, or that impairs the operator; (iv) smoking cannabis in any space while minors are present. So basically, you can possess all the weed that you have grown in that 25sq ft area.
