akarunway 1 #51 April 3, 2010 Quote Quote News: Pot grower barred from buying guns A medical-marijuana activist... has been barred from buying guns because he's a pot patient, according to an e-mail sent Tuesday by authorities. The e-mail from the King County Sheriff's Office to Steve Sarich said paperwork authorizing him to use and grow marijuana for medical reasons was enough to deny him the possession of weapons. Sarich, 59, said he tried to buy a shotgun and a pistol... He said he has no criminal record but failed the background check because federal laws prohibit "unlawful users" of controlled substances from buying or receiving guns. Marijuana is illegal under federal law... Source: http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/localnews/2011483199_potactivist31.html I would just be happy that anyone who gets drunk while hunting would be a trip to the county jail. If you want to go hunting.. LEAVE the fucking BOOZE and BEER at home. Of course that would exclude about 80% of fucking hunters who are just trying to get away from their families and party in the woods for a week. If they want to do that.. LEAVE the fucking guns at home and go camping. So how do I kill the animals that want to eat me?I hold it true, whate'er befall; I feel it, when I sorrow most; 'Tis better to have loved and lost Than never to have loved at all. akarunway 1 #52 April 3, 2010 QuoteQuoteQuoteQuoteI think it should be treated the same as alcohol. You should be able to own a gun if you use the drug (alcohol or weed) legally but if you are under the influence and use the gun then your ass belongs to the judge. If you are under the influence and hurt somebody with that gun, then the judge can transfer possession of your ass to a guy named Bubba who you will share a cell with for the next 5-15 years. Was this guy sober? LOL>And a cop to boot. Dumbfuck. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AxWWJaTEdD0 +1 -10 People who are drunk have no business driving or skydiving but they still have every right to defend themselves in a potentially deadly confrontation. The fact that A is sober and B is drunk in a confrontation between A and B does not necessarily mean that A is right and B is wrong. I basically agree with you I took it that if you use your gun wrong. Hope that clears it upI hold it true, whate'er befall; I feel it, when I sorrow most; 'Tis better to have loved and lost Than never to have loved at all. JohnRich 4 #54 May 24, 2011 Update:Oregon court rules medical pot users can have guns The Oregon Supreme Court unanimously ruled Thursday that a retired school bus driver can have her medical marijuana and a concealed handgun, too. The ruling upheld previous decisions by the Oregon Court of Appeals and circuit court that determined a federal law barring criminals and drug addicts from buying firearms does not excuse sheriffs from issuing concealed weapons permits to people who hold medical marijuana cards and otherwise qualify. "We hold that the Federal Gun Control Act does not pre-empt the state's concealed handgun licensing statute and, therefore, the sheriffs must issue (or renew) the requested licenses," Chief Justice Paul De Muniz wrote in the ruling issued in Salem...Full story: http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/article/ALeqM5ipIq3PIpUCHsSp9jsgjVOtpk6NDg?docId=7eb16557d1d643cb8665f6380b03d837
