Darius11 12 #2 April 21, 2010 Huge South Park fan. Funny side note: A few months ago I was talking to my GF about the super best friend’s episode. An old episode where they show Mohammed. I was saying I am kind of happy that no big deal was made of it but I thought hmm is this something I would even want to mention? Actually decided not to bring it up. Now they make this episode. I just think its sad that they can make fun of all the religions but they have to be worried when making fun of Islam. We really have some stupid fucks who take them selves way to seriously. People need to chill outI'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain

wmw999 2,447 #6 April 21, 2010 Sorry; it just does absolutely nothing for me. Believe it or not, I thought Beavis and Butthead were funnier (but I had a teenaged son during the Beavis and Butthead years). Of course, the only TV I watch any more are Antiques Roadshow and 60 minutes (I must be getting old ). And I don't even make time for 60 minutes; it's only on if we happen to be home Sunday evening. wolfriverjoe 1,523 #12 April 22, 2010 Quote I hate South Park, but might have to start watching it. This is totally stupid. Wendy P. I love South Park. Apparently this was aired last week, but I saw it for the first time last night. The entire episode was a revisit of old stuff. Cartman's dad, Mitch Conner (who was Jennifer Lopez), Ginger kids, Barbra Striesand, SuperBestFriends (Moses is my favorite, he has such great ideas), Tom Cruise (he has Seaman on his back), Raisins and the Old Country Kitchen Buffet, so much else. And the best one, Scott Tannerman as the head Ginger kid bringing Cartman to the "Chili Con Carnival". I think that South Park fans should do a "Terence and Philip" to the Muslims if they do anything to Matt and Trey. Fans across the country arriving at mosques all over. Waiting until a quiet, reverent moment... And blowing ass as loudly and offensively as possible."There are NO situations which do not call for a French Maid outfit." champu 1 #16 April 23, 2010 QuoteContacted by Fox News the author of the post, Abu Talhah al Amrikee, said he wrote the entry to "raise awareness." He told Fox News: "It's not a threat, but it really is a likely outcome. They're going to be basically on a list in the back of the minds of a large number of Muslims. It's just the reality." is it. /edited to add: "Apart from the fact that they prostitute their daughters, the Lydian way of life is not unlike the Greek." -Herodotus The Histories c. 440 BC

I find this as ridiculous as I hope every other person finds it. It is insanity to think that inflicting actual harm over a comic is "just a reality". My only point is that there are radicals in every belief system. It's currently in fashion to call muslims fanatics. Whoever uttered these words against the creators of south park clearly falls into that category. However, since I currently live in the middle east, I can say that most muslims share your viewpoint, and mine. They think it's insane that someone in their religion would say something like this. In the world today, I think there are plenty of "other" religious people who would like to separate my head from my shoulders for any one of the posts I've made here in the past few months. Hopefully if their ancient text is the same as your ancient text (assuming you hold religious beliefs, I have no idea) that won't mean that you'll look the other way, or not see it for what it is. I'm sure abortion doctors all over the US feel much less than perfectly safe when they leave work. there are radicals in every belief system. when the belief systems themselves are dismantled, perhaps the steady supply of radicals will dwindle. Say what you mean. Do what you say.

Hi Rack, Good point, I concur. However, the nut cases on the lunatic fringe exuding this intimidation are worrysome! They have exibited that they are serious,"9/11, publishing video of beheading Americans!!" Meanwhile, back at the ranch, I'm being a little more aware, and beware!! As for the everyday, run of the mill moselim, I've met a few. 'Used ta' work for Grumman Aero F-14 project in Iran back in the mid late 70's. Most that i knew were "nice people!!" remibond 0 #19 April 24, 2010 way to hi-jack a thread guys but it's a fair point, south park ripped on quite literally every other major world religion in those two episodes (jesus porn and buddha constantly doing coke for example) and none of them have said anything on the same scale that i've heard about. even back in the old south park vs. family guy episodes, the point was made that either everything is fair game or nothing is. oh and south park is awesome. that is all
Calvin19 0 #20 April 25, 2010 I do not think people understand how big of a deal this is. This is the biggest hit censorship had against free speech in a LONG time. This sets a precedent for future censorship of every other show on TV. This is terrorist negotiation at it's worst. If south park 201 is not shown, in it's entirety, by Comedy Central they might as well cancel the series. It will be better in the long run for not just censorship and freedom of speech laws, but the safety of anyone that exercises their right to free speech within non violent terms. jtval 0 #22 April 25, 2010 I wonder if that didnt help fuel the lunatic fringe. Comedy Central (CC) gave those lunatic the feeling of power since they were the ONLY religion that CC bend over backwards to protect. Don't you thnk any strong follower of the other religions would be offended by what I perceive as a joke? Yet, The fear of retaliation from a few shitheads made CC cower in fear and block out and bleep ONE item of a possible few dozen that could be found offensive. Cowards. IT'S A CARTOON. THIS IS AMERICA (fuck yea) Freedom on speech is the FIRST amendment. And while they say its the "website douche bag" right to free speech, it is not. Once you infringe on others' rights you no longer have that freedom. A death threat is an infringement on the targets personal freedom.
