Bin Laden in Iran?

Recommended Posts

I thought this was interesting:

"The idea that Bin Laden is in Iran got a strong boost recently with the premiere of a documentary called “Feathered Cocaine.” In it, Alan Parrot, the film’s subject and one of the world’s foremost falconers, makes a case that Bin Laden, an avid falcon hunter, has been living comfortably in Iran since at least 2003 and continues to pursue the sport relatively freely. He is relaxed, healthy and, according to the film, very comfortable.

To make his case, Parrot, president of the Union for the Conservation of Raptors, took two Icelandic filmmakers, Om Marino Arnarson and Thorkell S. Hardarson, into the secretive world of falconers. It's a world in which some birds can sell for over $1 million, and in which the elite of the Middle East conduct business in luxurious desert camps where money, politics and terror intermingle.

Parrot, who was once the chief falconer for the Shah of Iran and who has worked for the royal families of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, still has extensive contacts in Iran and the falcon world. One of those contacts, described as a warlord from the north of Iran and disguised in a balaclava, reveals in the film that he has met Bin Laden six times on hunting trips inside Iran since March 2003. He says the Al Qaeda leader is relaxed and healthy and so comfortable that “he travels with only four bodyguards.”..."

Can't wait to see the film.

Nonsense, Bin Laden is working as a waiter in the Indian down the road from me & Elvis is a taxi driver across the road.:S

Sure, next there will be some random car bombings in Iran, next thing you got that war you always wanted. Fuck they’ve got some oil!

Now ‘we’ve’ got them surrounded and all ‘our’ shit is in place, might as well pull out of Iraq and get straight in there.

By the way have your mates managed to get Bin Ladin on the FBI wanted list for 911 atrocity yet?

Or who is it you're after for that, what is going on these days? What’s the purpose of all this.

I got to hold one of those falcons only a couple of months ago, at a banquet in the dessert hosted by the prince of Dubai, he has a wind tunnel at his house. And evidently he can fly quite well in it,

Cool huh!

You lot have no idea of how many problems this rancid propoganda brings you.

Ahmadinejad Defiant in Face of U.N. Sanctions, Israeli Military
Iranian President: Talk of Sanctions 'Will Not Work,' Times Square Bomb Plot 'Clear Indication' of Failure in War on Terror

By LEE FERRAN and THEA TRACHTENBERG
May 5, 2010

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad flatly stated his country will "definitely continue" its nuclear program despite the potential threat of Israeli military action -- which Ahmadinejad brushed off completely -- and the gathering of support for new, U.S.-proposed sanctions.
Mahmoud Ahmadinejad responds to new round of U.S.-proposed sanctions.

"[It's] no problem," Ahmadinejad told ABC News' George Stephanopoulos of President Obama's recent push for a fourth round of sanctions against Iran. "Any measure he takes will be proportionately confronted by a position that Iran will take ... we will act the same way as we have been doing so far against hostilities. Don't worry about us, we know how to defend ourselves.

"We will not accept something that's forced upon us... Therefore let's put it aside. This is not something that by threatening Iran or putting pressure on Iran, will force Iran to change its positions. This is not something that will work. Its time has passed," he said.

Ahmadinejad said the new round of sanctions -- which both Chinese leaders agreed to in concept and Russian President Dmitry Medvedev said he would support if implemented effectively -- were illegal based on the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and implied that the U.S. represented the greater threat to global security. "Which one is more dangerous? Yesterday the United States announced that 'We have more than 5,000 atomic bombs.' Is 5,000 more dangerous or a country that might get the atomic bomb? Which is more dangerous for the world's security?" he said. "This opinion that some American authorities have are the root cause of the world's problems -- that someone who possesses nuclear bombs [to] tell others not to use it for peaceful means."

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton disclosed the number of U.S. nuclear weapons -- 5,113 -- for the first time Monday at the U.N. before rebuking Ahmadinejad for his claims that morning that the U.S. used its nuclear weapons to threaten other countries.

"This morning, Iran's president offered the same tired, false and sometimes wild accusations against the United States and other parties at this conference," Clinton said Monday. "That's not surprising. Iran will do whatever it can to divert attention away from its own record and to attempt to evade accountability."

The following day Ahmadinejad called Clinton an "enemy of Iran" on PBS's "Charlie Rose Show," but later told ABC News he was not referring to her.

"It's the measures that we're referring to that are hostile, not people," he said in the interview with George Stephanopoulos. "It's not individuals that we're involved with. If there is an action taken against Iran, then it is considered a hostile action."

However, he said, "it is obvious that Mrs. Clinton constantly is engaged in taking hostile actions against Iran."

It's a stance Ahmadinejad said Obama does not appear to share, despite his comments last month in support of the new sanctions.

"Mrs. Clinton is interested in speedily moving relations with Iran to the point of a clash," he said. "Based on the information we possess, Mr. Obama does not have such an opinion. But there's a lot of pressure going around."

This is the article to the above link, it astounds me that none of you are interested.

Or is it that you are interested but unwilling to acknowledge your supposed enemies are not necessarily the enimies at all. Maybe the USA are the ememies, Enemies to Iran, and everybody else including themeselves?

That is how it appears to me, if possible, can any of you please respectfully discuss this topic without using violence? I would like to be wrong but increasingly I am compelled to feel this way.

For this discussion have decided i will not react to violence in the form of insults. These are my true feelings, I have no malice intended in discussiong this topic and what I plan to achieve is a deeper understanding about the current relations between Iran and the USA.

There is also a video of the interview, the presedent of the Iran seems well spoken and rational, but I/we have to remeber he is a politician as is the presedent of the USA.

It seems to me, that the miliraty industrial complex is itching to get into Iran and there is plenty of propoganda currently being spread that is trying to achieve that goal.

The propoganda tells me that the moves of the corrupt and powerful are dependant on the popular vote. So in turn the responsability lies with the population to make sure the correct decisions are made and that this subject needs to be investigated further and in full clarity of the public.

I do not recall, did the USA have a vote before they/you went into Iraq and Afghanistan or was that decision made for you? or was there not enough time for that?

discuss?

I would like to see a 'live' debate between Obama and or Clinton v's Ahmadinejad and or his chief of security on the nuclear topic as well as other major subjects in the world. It is important that we understand each other if we are going to live together, or is that not what the goal is?

Good.

Petty insults don't make either the conversation better or the insulter look good.

Geez, that's quite a rant, and explains why so many Gulf states are allied with the US, and why some even have commandos operating in Afghanistan. Heck, it even explains why Iran is importing gasoline. Thanks for clearing that up.

Seriously, Bin Laden hates all of mankind who isn't like him (e.g., Wahabbi whacko), and that goes double for the Persians (not Arabs. Indo-Europeans, and Shia to boot). Iran is the last place he would be.

ps - for a really good look at contemporary Iran, watch [url "http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1426378/">"No One Knows About Persian Cats". It screened at the Tribeca Film Festival here in Doha last Fall, and is available online as a legit torrent.

Exactly! why is thr US media promoting such bullshit do you think?

It surprises me that Iran would import gasoline. They have a shitload of oil. iran oil reserves

Can you point out a recourse that shows Iran is importing petrolium. I had a search and found stuff from 2006 on the subject but cannot find any recent articles.

Iran has 11+% of the worlds know oil reserves.

I didn't say they were importing petroleum. They're importing gasoline from places like China, believe it or not. No one with refining technology wants to invest in Iran, not even the Russians, fer cryin' out loud. The Chinese won't do it either.

US DoE on Iran

Slate: Why Is Iran Importing Gasoline?

"The country's aging and inefficient refineries can't meet its swelling demand for gasoline. Iran may be brimming with crude oil, but it can't convert enough of the raw product into refined fuels like diesel, kerosene, or gasoline. International sanctions and political pressure from the United States and other countries have discouraged multinational energy companies from making large-scale investments in Iran's infrastructure. Meanwhile, Iranian domestic energy policy—including heavy subsidies for gasoline—has encouraged waste and increased domestic demand."

The article blames trade sanctions - hahaha, but then tells the truth later on---

"More generally, Iran is known for a restrictive, bureaucratic business environment that can scare off investment." Read: Nobody wants to deal with the corrupt mullahs, especially when such deals would be perceived as a direct threat by other Gulf nations.

They are not importing petroleum(oil), they import gasoline(among other things) because of limited refinery capacity.

Cool so thay lack the infrastructure to refine their natural recource fast enough for thier growing demand. They can still sell oil to pay for the gas similar to New Zealand exporting whole trees to Japan rather than pulp, paper and timber. we then buy products back off them later made with our recources.

That is simply poor economics and infrastructure but says nothing about the reasoning why the sanctions are being placed on Iran.

I am not here to defend Iran, but I can see much propoganda in the media against Iran. i admit i do not understand enough and wish to learn. Thanks for your input.

I also understand that Arabs and persians often do not like each other, which is why I found it interesting that these accusations from the US media are trying to make out that Bin lading is amoe kind of ally to Iran.

This makes no sence to me but americans will lap it up and use it as a means to invade.

Do you agree that it is increasingly looking like th USA wish to invade Iran?

does the UAE have nuclear reactors?

What makes you think this? The only place I've ever seen anything discussed about this is in the liberal media.

The Iranians have got the other Gulf states pretty nervous, what with all their ranting, support of radical groups, deals with North Korea, etc. The moderate Gulf states (Sunni) don't appreciate a Shia Iraq, but they know it's a lot different than Shia Iran and are willing to tolerate it for the time being. If Iraq shifts towards Iran, though, things are going to get ugly.

The Persians have long been the 800-pound gorilla of the Middle East (the ancient Greeks fought them, the Romans did so too. The Persians steamrollered the whole region with various empires from about 350BC onwards. The Arabs have much longer memories than we do, and haven't forgotten their history), so there's no love lost.

Iran's antics have done nothing but strengthen the ties between the US and the Gulf states to the point where the kingdoms are not just standing aside, they are actually making it easier to keep the mad dog of the Gulf on a tight leash.

The Gulf states want nothing more than to sell their dinosaur guts to the rest of the world and build silly things like indoor ski slopes. Iran threatens all that, and the Gulf states know which side their Khubz is hummused on.B|

I don't have a crystal ball, but I can say this with certainty: the US will never unilaterally invade Iran.

If, however, Iran is perceived by the majority of the Gulf states to be an intolerable threat, things will change. "Blah blah blah Israel blah blah blah" is just hot air. The Gulf states know where the real threat lies. It's just across the waterway.

Bin Laden in Iran?

Alright!

We are scanning the scene
in the city tonight
We're looking for you
to start up a fight
There's an evil feeling in our brains
But it's nothing new
you know it drives us insane

Running,
On our way
Hiding,
You will pay
Dying,
One thousand deaths
Running,
On our way
Hiding,
You will pay
Dying,
One thousand deaths
Searching,
Seek and Destroy
Searching,
Seek and Destroy!
Searching,
Seek and Destroy
Searching,
Seek and Destroy

There is no escape
and that's for sure
This is the end we won't take any more
Say goodbye to the world you live in
You've always been BITCHING
but now you're KILLING

Running,
On our way
Hiding,
You will pay
Dying,
One thousand deaths
Running,
On our way
Hiding,
You will pay
Dying,
One thousand deaths
Searching,
Seek and Destroy
Searching,
Seek and Destroy!
Searching,
Seek and Destroy
Searching,
Seek and Destroy!!

Our brains are on fire
with the feeling to kill
And it won't go away
'til our dreams are fulfilled
There is only one thing on our minds
Don’t try running away
`cause you’re the one we will find

Running,
On our way
Hiding,
You will pay
Dying,
One thousand deaths
Running,
On our way
Hiding,
You will pay
Dying,
One thousand deaths
Searching,
Seek and Destroy
Searching,
Seek and Destroy!
Searching,
Seek and Destroy
Searching,
Seek and Destroy
Ahahahaha!

This shit is real Rhys...you fucking disgrace!

even worse than me!

I'm a liberal christain...willing to die and suffer the pains of hell, just so that you may see the light!

because in my finite human wisdom you probably even deserve it more than me in your disgrace to the human race!

my time is comming soon...I can't take it much longer....

Pray for me brothers.

Good to hear. The Metallica lyrics are cool (amazing how relevant they can be), but I was a bit worried you were going "Slyde" on us.

Thanks...been goin through some rough times, though exciting ...depends on how you look at it I guess...

I'm ashamed with how I deal with things sometimes...

Beer and heavy metal doesn't necessarily help either...

But I went back home to the city today.(downtown detroit) was a great day...the tigers won and I couldn't lose at the casino no matter what I did....I was just hot and had a nice blonde broad by by side.....

decided to go jump off greektown casino...I never skydived before. I always wanted to go to Zhills and get my aff but it never happened, so I just grabbed a chute and decided to just start jumping solo base.

As I was up there this time, I felt nothing....nothing. No adrenaline, no flight or fight....nothing. It scared me...am I this jaded?

Decided not to jump...whats the point, right?

I was just curious if you guys felt this while skydiving....perhaps I should just go to the base forums, but I think they're all just idiots like me.

anyways, I probably should just go back out in the national forest and do some soul searching and figure shit out....I'm pretty much a loner and these people here (dz.com) just bring me down...such a depressing bunch.

Thanks for your concern....I'll be alright.

That book I cling to does wonders...just wish I was more dedicated.

So close, no matter how far
Couldn't be much more from the heart
Forever trusting who we are
and nothing else matters

Never opened myself this way
Life is ours, we live it our way
All these words I don't just say
and nothing else matters

Trust I seek and I find in you
Every day for us something new
Open mind for a different view
and nothing else matters

never cared for what they do
never cared for what they know
but I know

So close, no matter how far
Couldn't be much more from the heart
Forever trusting who we are
and nothing else matters

never cared for what they do
never cared for what they know
but I know

Never opened myself this way

All these words I don't just say

Trust I seek and I find in you
Every day for us, something new
Open mind for a different view
and nothing else matters

never cared for what they say
never cared for games they play
never cared for what they do
never cared for what they know
and I know

So close, no matter how far

Forever trusting who we are
No, nothing else matters
