The premise of this thread was to *TRY* to deflect some of the racist perceptions people have of the right wing. Gawain brought up an issue, any issue and took the opportunity to drop the obvious asterisks that spell, "black ass" knowing the left would pipe in to point out that he's being a racist. Then he would jump back and say, "how dare you, I'm offended that you would call me that, what I was writing was 'sorry ass.' WOW, now you're the racists for thinking that. It's quite sophmoric, but being over obvious racial issues it's pathetic.

Ideologues like you, and don't tell me you weren't pro-nuke Japan, but ideologues think you stick with 1 party and that's it. Conservatism and liberalism are generally constants, the parties change ideologies. For example, when the D's and Whigs were such pigs, the R's came along as the progressive party of liberty and freedom. Of course 50 years later they started turning to shit and by the mid 1920's they were total garbage. But that doesn't mean that they couldn't muster a good candidate or 2, as with Eisenhower and GHWB.

So the point is, I didn't like Truman or LBJ by a lot, I am iffy on Kennedy. I'm not you, it's not all R's or all D's. And as I said, the Dems in the south in the early 1960's were conservatives, they stayed as racist conservative for the large part, but they switched parties, or should I say the parties switched ideologies and they jumped on board. Again, the pre-Lincoln Dems were the regressive/traditionalists and I think they sucked. Now the Dems are the progressives and the R’s the regressive/traditionalists. This is not a brand-name that stays as one forever; it’s dynamic.

As for Clinton and secrets to Japan, I don’t know what is with that, but I will say that as time goes on, I love his fiscal policies more and more and dislike his social policies. Militarily he was alright, not really a military man at all, but neither was GWB; Clinton had the sense to just avoid conflict since he was militarily nil. I could cite a few of his policies I bet you agree with. Of course you would never admit any. Fiscally the dicks on the right try to act as if he lucked into it or that the Jan 95 congress did it all when the success was well under way with the tax increases.

Whitewater was never really proven, was it? Funny how the party of fiscal disaster looks for way to impeach the successful president - really pathetic. The party that lynched Clinton for getting a BJ and lying commuted Libby for the same crimes that Clinton was absolved of in a political trail as compared to a Libby criminal trial. Not to mention all the gay and other sex scandals, yet Clinton is the sexual deviant. Truth is that the RW can’t stand that Clinton was the architect of the best economy ever and that kills them/you.
