QuoteQuoteQuoteLiberalism demands that the parameters of sexual perversion be constantly expanded.
That's one of the more creative gratuitous liberal-bashes I've read on here in at least 2 or 3 days.
And you think it untrue?

Here's your turtle-hole.

>accept and redefine previously aberrant behavior into the realm of normal.
True to a degree. Liberalism ended slavery, and redefined blacks as normal people, with the same rights as everyone else. Liberalism got women the vote, and redefined them as normal, thinking, responsible humans. Liberalism ended the laws against interracial marriages, and allowed what was previously considered aberrant behavior into the realm of normal. Liberalism is now ending laws outlawing homosexuality, and will continue until gays have the same rights as anyone else.
I am sure there are uber-conservatives people who pine for the olden days when blacks were property, women were little better, gays could be arrested and any black man who touched a white woman would be arrested at best - but more likely lynched. Fortunately they are greatly in the minority. Even people who identify themselves as 'normal' conservatives scoff at the idea of outlawing interracial marriage, and become insulted if anyone suggests that they would oppose that formerly radical-liberal concept.
Some day in the future, someone just like you will be condemning the next class of perversion. Call it virtual sex. And that person will make a statement like "well, of course I support interracial and gay marriage; don't insult me by suggesting I'm a bigot! But virtual sex is aberrant behavior; these people have behavioral problems expressing normal sex."
And conservatives will once again follow behind the paths that liberals blazed, as they have done historically.

Sorry, I couldn't resist.
Go back and read all my posts in this thread. I thought I stated my position clearly.

QuoteConceptually, liberalism seeks to restrict Christian or conservative ideology.
Just curious... Do you think that most Christians and/or conservatives would like to see the sodomy laws reinstated? And would you like to see them reinstated?
Personally, I don't want to restrict you from living your life the way you want to, as long as you are not harming someone else. But if your ideology seeks to keep me (or anyone else) from having that same freedom, then yes, I would want to restrict it.

I never thought of Liberalism as the catalyst to end slavery. For me it was Christian morality that spurred freedom to the blacks. It was simply right and good and that comes from God's love and His Word.
Remember, around the beginning of the 20th Century, Liberalism morphed into Progressivism. It is that social concept that is the evil of the day.
It is the Yin and Yang, the energy of opposites that helps to generate the creativity of society. I have my chosen side as do you.
Most folks here have a difficult time separating my Christian values from my social science understanding. I think you do an admirable job picking apart the pieces.
For the record here, the primary definition of Conservative for me is, less government. I realize there is more to the concept but that is how I tend to use the term.
