Evolution in action

It was funny, except that turtlespeed seems to post things like that in every thread, regardless of whether or not the thread is remotely connected to Obama (or even politics).

I was just trying to remind him to keep his dislike of Obama in perspective. It's unlikely that Obama will lead to any massive extinction events.

Palin on the other hand...

I think Palin genes appear to drive opposite to extinction:P....much like welfare:o

Driving is a one dimensional activity - a monkey can do it - being proud of your driving abilities is like being proud of being able to put on pants

Well, homosexuals can't reproduce, so there's a very, very strong anti-evolutionary force working against them. Must be some sort of divine intervention keeping them around, eh?

Refer to Andy9o8 post #31.
Look for the shiny things of God revealed by the Holy Spirit. They only last for an instant but it is a Holy Instant. Let your soul absorb them.

Not so sure about "can't reproduce." But it's definitely not as easy/convenient for them as it is for heterosexuals.

>Not so sure about "can't reproduce."

Can't reproduce with their own DNA. Outside of cloning, there's no way to create a child with the two parent's DNA (although one can certainly have kids outside any relationship with someone else.)

Well that isn't a very good family value now is it?

should be good.:ph34r::ph34r::ph34r:

I have two friends who are trying very hard to have kids and are using donor sperm. They have pretty good family values.

But yes - the more usual way to do that is, unfortunately, both pervasive and historically commonplace.

Kind of like anyone using donated sperm, isn't it?

Right, their child could only have one parent's DNA, combined with the DNA of a donor or surrogate. I guess you meant homosexual couples can't reproduce.

It would be interesting (if a human life could span the time) to see how long any significant portion of the population holds onto creationism. With the ability to sequence DNA and the resultant ability to map out the tree of life; giving any credence to creationism over evolution is quite simply learned ignorance overriding inate intelligence for the sake of how people feel. Emotions (the cerebral type, not the limbic type) are a lousy tool for evaluating the world.

The ability to sequence DNA confirms evolution with no room for doubt. It is like putting something together, having it work properly, then finding the directions later and discovering your assembly was on the money.

Agreed,

One only needs to look at evidence also.

New Zealand has some great examples, with the only native land based mammal being a bat.

Birds are predominant and New Zealand by evidence seems to have broken off gondwana during the jurassic period when early forms of birds, by evidence of fossile remains, are believed to first come to be.

Now.

There are many many bird species in NZ and many of them are flightless due to the only predators being large Birds for millions of years.

This takes us to the Kiwi, not the drunken humans found around bonfires at night but the bird that has only small reminants of wings.

There were also other large flightless birds now extinct called the Moa

Quote

The kiwi were formerly regarded as the closest relatives of the moa, but comparisons of their DNA in a paper published in 2005 suggested moa were more closely related to the Australian emu and cassowary.[9] However research published in 2010 found that the moa's closest cousins were not the emu and cassowary but smaller terrestrial South American birds called the tinamous which are able to fly[

So in brief only very primitive birds existed as New zealand became seperate from gondwana, not there are many many species some of which are flightless, and some of whch only have reminants of wings, the closest living relatives of these wingless flightless birds, are found in South America and Australia and can fly.

So they needed to fly or evolve from a more primitive species to get here, but now they dont have (useful) wings at all, is that not evolution?

Yup.. you are wrong yet again.

I have seen and know some gay couples who are wonderful parents and have instilled those family values in their children who are now wonderful parents themselves.

Some people are capable of acutally believing in and living their "family values "that many of those who mouth the words could only hope to emulate since they are usually out there screwing around so much and ignoring that which they only pay lip service to as they are expected to talk that talk[:/] but can walk that walk at all.[:/][:/]
