shah269 0 #1 August 19, 2010 Karma do you believe? I use to be a huge believer in Karma and flying clear. And in a way I still am......but this divorce thing has kind of shaken my view of things. And I've seen some really horrible people get away with amazing things and not only do ok but do great. But on the other.......and this is really strange. Everyone who has stabbed me in the back or hurt me, seems to have had the crap kicked out of them. One of the righteous ladies in Yoga who declared time and time again that "oh you are only interested in girls who have the bodies of 13 year old boys (size 8 and under)" and "you need to spend years alone!" just found out her dogs, both of them....have cancer and will be dead soon. A girl who once threatened to bring up a sexual harassment suit, of which I nor my boss could comprehend why, well I just found out she was fired and from what I'm told as she was leaving....the cars transmission decided to stop working. A co worker from my previous job who stabbed me in the back while I was making a high level presentation and thus nixing my ability to get promoted, his wife developed a "glandular issue" aka put in 100lbs in two years. And now he spends his evening playing poker trying to dink himself to death. Maybe my belief in Karma is not all there but apparently Karma still believes in me? What do you guys and gals (what there are 4 of you?) think? I know it's a good way to live and it's how I try to live every day. But this is nutty!Life through good thoughts, good words, and good deeds is necessary to ensure happiness and to keep chaos at bay. The only thing that falls from the sky is birdshit and fools! Nataly 38 #2 August 19, 2010 I don't believe there is this invisible "force" whereby if you do good, good comes back to you and vice versa.. Having said this, there is no doubt in my mind that people tend to like you more when you are kind than when you're an arsehole, so on balance you are more likely to be treated better if you treat people well. But that doesn't mean that nice people don't get heart attacks or cancer or any number of things that don't discriminate on that basis."There is no problem so bad you can't make it worse." - Chris Hadfield « Sors le martinet et flagelle toi indigne contrôleuse de gestion. » - my boss
Opendore 0 #3 August 19, 2010 My father died when I was 7... What do you make of that? What is this karma you speak of? People have things happen. Things have happened to people. Horror stories are out there that karma can't explain. Life goes on... unless you're dead. Edit to add: A bird just flew into a window 3 feet from me and died on my deck... wtf does that mean? I don't have a license for this.

airtwardo 7 #11 August 19, 2010 Yeah, I believe that if you are a good, honest and honorable person ~ Good things will come back to you. Call it Karma if you will... Part of it may be that IF you are a good person, then people tend to treat you accordingly. Conversely, if you negatively perceive the world around you ...and the people in it as back stabbers, liars, cheaters and the like. ~That's YOUR bad karma givin' ya the cosmic smack-down. ...and reveling with joy in the bad fortune of others, no matter what they may have done to you real or imagined, is you feeding the karma gorilla that many more reasons to put his big hairy foot in yer ass! ~ If you choke a Smurf, what color does it turn? ~
Andrewwhyte 1 #12 August 19, 2010 Karma is the force that causes the things you do in life to affect your position in the universe in your next life not later in this one. A belief in karma means you are ok with millions of malnourished children in the world because they deserve it due to their behavior in their last life. It also means you are OK with Paris Hilton being stupidly rich for the same reason.

Like I said I beleive in flying clear. But this divorce thing took me for a huge......well ever been in a bike accident.....yeah kind of like that. And I'm recovering and I'm sitting going "Where the hell did this come from?" But I guess I'll never know. I guess I'll just do on to others as I want done on to me (respect and what not). shah269 0 #25 August 20, 2010 Quote Sorry Shah, don't know about the divorce situation. I'm guessing you are going through one, in which case I'm sorry to hear that. It's ok brother. I know I'm a bit of an ass here....but in real life and you can ask the people at my DZ I really do believe in flying clear. And so though I may say rude things about + sized girls in "the world of the real" I my best to help every one out. Even + sized ladies. It's just how my grandmother raised me. The Zorastrian way of doing good to help the universe into the light. And this divorce brother......like getting hit by a train! There I was totally madly in love with my wife who all of a sudden stopped treating me like her husband and more as her butler to the point where I started skydiving to remind her...hey i could be dead tomorrow....only to have her ask for a divorce when I asked that we seek help. And this is a women for whome I would have and had done anything and every thing.....maybe one day I'll tell you guys how I fought the US embassy to get her a visa when they rejected her based on me being Persian. So when this all hit....I just stopped. I looked up and I looked down and said...."What? Why? I help all those I can help and you.....Karma....take away the love of my life?" Of which only 6 months before I had just shattered my leg in a hard landing? So for a few months now I've been questioning Karma. Not that I deserve anything but why hit me? And like that! So I don't know. I guess I could give up on it and be an ass in real life as I am toward + sized girls online....but that's not me. But then again...maybe ME is what needs to be chainged to fit this new reality?Life through good thoughts, good words, and good deeds is necessary to ensure happiness and to keep chaos at bay.
