Got a bit of a contradiction there. An 8 year old shows up in an ER, hit by a car. You know as surely as you can that her parents won't pay. She will die without care. Do you let her die? Nice Bill. That doesn't happen and you know it. 8 year olds hit by cars or parents who can't pay? The scenario desribed is much more likely in a perfect tea bagger world than any death panel would be under Obama.

quade 4 #88 October 24, 2010 QuoteQuoteFacts, not arguments. sorry.... forgot that on your side of the fence, arguments can't be facts. The best arguments are based on facts, but facts in and of themselves aren't arguments. Pure water at standard atmospheric pressure freezes at 0°C; fact. Pure water at standard atmospheric pressure boils at 100°C; fact. An argument made from those facts would be; Pure water at standard atmospheric pressure freezes at 0°C and boils at 100°C, therefore pure water at standard atmospheric pressure is liquid between 0°C and 100°C. An argument is a conclusion based on facts. The validity of the argument rests on the validity and relevance of the facts presented. Bad arguments attempt to tie facts that aren't true or relevant to a logical conclusion. Knowing the difference between what is true and relevant and what is not is the difference between progress and burning witches at the stake. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zrzMhU_4m-gquade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver

I was just stating facts, we have a form of socialized medicine in America now. It's been around for years. After 31 years in the "Trauma" biz, I have seen first hand what it costs for indigent healthcare, illegal immigrant health care and uninsured health care. Something has to be done in the emergency medical field, because the 911 system is overloaded and abused to no end. But that's another thread entirely. Now back to the Tea Party discussions. billvon 2,991 #99 October 25, 2010 >so because I can get water to boil at 95C, you admit that >AGW (consensus science) is junk? Nope. However, by ignoring the science behind an anomalous event (like water boiling at 95C) you can seemingly support any denier position. "See? There was an anomalous result in this series of temperatures! Therefore AGW is junk."
quade 4 #100 October 25, 2010 Quoteso because I can get water to boil at 95C, you admit that AGW (consensus science) is junk? I'd say that if a person thinks just because it's possible to boil water at 95°C it invalidates (consensus) science, then they probably don't have a good enough understanding of science in general to make informed comments about global warming. I'm not even talking a PhD. level of understanding, but an honest to god "holy shit how come you didn't learn that in high-school" understanding.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
