I recall the National Socialist Party of Ger$nay and the communist Paety of the Soviet Union collectively slaughtered in excess of 25 million because it was for the betterment of society. If I recall in the latter case, anybody who was wealthy or educated - or anyone who dared speak out against the communist rule - was determined to be an enemy of the state and killed.
As much as people likw to say the Nazis were "right wing" they were big government command economy socialists. Just because left-wing government has a well established history of wholesale slaughter throughout fairly recent history. Stalin? Mao? Pol Pot?
Also, how about telling me how a limited government of limited power is ever in the position to round people up. Tell me ai was Saddam Hussein in favor of limited government? Is the Taliban or Iran shining examples of limited government showing restraint? Or are these examples reflective of a strong central government exercising control over its helpless citizens?
By the way - this explains why I'm not a Republican. Both favor large government controlling different aspects of our lives. Working together they can use each other to control everything.

What about taking people's money for the reason that they don't deserve it is caring, uncruel, considers that person above others and is not despotic?
Kindly explain. I believe that if you actually think about it and analyze it, you'll have a difficult time with it. Especially when viewed from the standpoint of the victim.

I don't agree with Jerry (lawrocket), but it's clear that you're deliberately trolling him. You've been in troll mode in a couple threads today. Just brings down the overall tone of the forum, IMO. But hey - that's just IMO.

If you had made this statement, "taking people's money for the reason that they don't deserve it is uncaring, cruel, considers that person below others, and is despotic?" I would have been less put out.
Your statement made the assumption that anyone left of center believes in taking people's money because they don't deserve it. That's what I found to be doozyrific.

Barney Frank is a pond-scum sucking lowlife that never did anything in his life besides take it up the azz and try to get his dirty paws on other people's money.
If a person works, saves, scrimps and sacrifices IN SPITE OF income taxes and manages to make something of his life, he's entitled IMHO to do whatever he wants with that money, whether it be charity or to pass it along to his progeny. That money should be none of the government's business as the taxes to earn it are already paid in full. The reason it's so easy to go after is that the person who did earn it no longer has a voice because he's DEAD, and the libs can use the "don't deserve it" lingo - of course, I'm still trying to figure out how they think THEY (government) deserves it.
Look how many small businesses that employ people have to sell to pay the taxes (convert equity to cash NOW to pay Uncle), how many family farms are ruined because they have to sell to pay Uncle, etc...
Those "filthy rich" pay the majority of the taxes, and consume a large part of the goods and services that the jobs of those less fortunate have. I'd rather work for a rich guy than a poor guy, but of course the socialists would like everyone to be the same regardless of effort (except themselves running the government).

Yeah the poor guy will pay better cause he's poor but decent and the rich guy will pay worse because all rich guys are just lucky they got there (on the backs of the poor guy)
