Why do people get so upset about faith?

I have seen hiom comment on incongruities and a possible violation of others rights

Like uniformed parades with whips and chains? Like opening the floodgates to flammers[sic] (whatever the hell they are? Like being allowed to speak about equalling demanding to scream about it? Those violations of rights? Right.

but I never read a post of his where he said he cared.

He may well never have specifically stated whether he cares that Obama is President, or that the Chinese have been testing ballistic missiles off the California coast (:D), but the caring is, again, pretty obvious.

there is a difference between caring if the guy is gay and caring where he flaunts his gayness.

And when your idea of 'flaunting' is wanting to not be forced to actively hide it for fear of being fired, you really, really do care that the guy is gay.
Do you want to have an ideagasm?

Is that what you believe repealing don’t ask don’t tell is about? Allowing homosexuals to flaunt their “gayness” and openly hit on their boss and co-workers. Allowing them to “be at work and be nothing but "sexual””. One of us is really misunderstanding it then. I am going to have to go back and look at it again. Maybe we both should.

See? That's exactly the ridiculous knee-jerk double standard that shows how much the 'faggots' really, really do bother you.

If you mention, at work, that you have a wife does that mean that you're hitting on every female in the office? Think about it. (If you can put your prejudice aside for 10 seconds)

>Well I can't help that you are ashamed . . .

At least you admit that you bring up "Obama the Savior" far more often than the people you accuse of doing the same thing. ODS in action.

Could be because the morons that vored him in, and see him as "The Savior" are totally computer illeterate!

Some, are the exception!

And personally I think homosexuality is a lifestyle choice - but that doesn't make it any more wrong than other lifestyle choices such as being a hippy or a vegetarian. Or a Catholic for that matter!

Thought experiment: If homosexuality is a lifestyle choice then when did you choose to be straight?

So people who can't spell on a computer are the morons who voted him in?

There are days when all anyone has to do is step back and let you post.

Then there are days that poeple get threatening Pm's saying if they speak, they will no longer be allowed to post here, while at the same time being attacked in "open", by the person making said PM's!

Strange world we live in isn;t it?

Nicely played sir!:S

Scientology is such a work of fantasy that taking it seriously enough to refute is difficult. Superman comic books are easily as technically sound.

4yo: Superman can fly and has superpowers, is superstrong and is really good.

adult: Honey, Superman is just a comic book. Somebody wrote that. It is just a story.

4yo: No it isn't. I read it. It's real.

adult: (growing exasperated)

4yo: (growing insistent) I can prove it. Look at my book.

because of his (albeit false) belief in Superman, 4 year old child grows up helping others and trying to do good in every aspect of his life

on the otherhand, the next door 4 year old also believed in superman and assumed that bullets would bounce off the mailman - this had a poor result

sometimes individual results count and you just can't put a blanket judgment on all 4 year olds when their beliefs affect each one differently -

and then "adult" wasted much of his life trying convince the 4 year old that superman is a comic and he grew to be a bitter old man that actually admired the bathing habits of CrW dogs - he never even noticed how good the 4 year turned out to be in life

...
Driving is a one dimensional activity - a monkey can do it - being proud of your driving abilities is like being proud of being able to put on pants

it is less irritating to have a discussion about childish
illusions with a child. when adults start talking about
their invisible friend with superpowers, it is immediately
boring because they should know better.

to redirect back to the original question...
patience shortens a little each time the topic comes up.
(even if they have a special book, with secret knowledge
and the decoder ring)

Bottom line is that I am very cool with religion in general, until it turns into the Propogation Of Ignorance.
" . . . the lust for power can be just as completely satisfied by suggesting people into loving their servitude as by flogging them and kicking them into obedience." -- Aldous Huxley

Believe me - it works both ways.
It is even more irritating to me for an athiest to start spouting off his "universal truths" than it is to listen to a moonie or a Hare Chrishna or a muslim or a Jehovas witness.
