The Class War Launched by America's Wealthiest Is Getting More Savage

Recommended Posts

The housekeeper had better have enough education to read cleaning instructions, use a cell phone, etc. The driver had better be educated enough to read road signs, read a map, maybe use a GPS, read and understand an operators manual so they can safely operate all the advanced functions on the newer luxory cars. If their employer is a high profile figure they had better be educated in evasive driving skills (NOT EASY!).
Rich folk don't like educated employees? Think again, buster. Educated employess make their employer a lot more money than ignorant ones. If an employee is educated to the point he is a real threat to his employer, they are required to sign a contract agreeing not to compete with that employer while employed and for a period of time after separation, usually at least two years.

It's obvious that you want income and/or wealth (which are different) to be the same for everyone.

i'd like equality of opportunity - which the rich will never accept. they like the system tilted their way.

And you want the system tilted your way. [:/]

hence the dumbing down of education in the us (and making it so expensive that only the rich can get it)

When i entered college I was in my 20's and in debt up to my neck. My dad was just starting his business at the same time so was in debt up to HIS neck as well and unable to help. Yet I got my engineering degree, helped my dad grow his business into a multi-million dollar operation, and started my own.
Yeah, the system really sucks. All of that should have been given to me. :(

equality of oportunity means that the system isn't tilted in any direction :)

i think you'll find the democratic system will make that decision. this being the democracy that the rich fought against in the first place.... i wonder why?

Then came the crashes of 2001

The crash of 2001? Don't you mean when the dot-com bubble began to burst. Sorry the dot-com bubble began to burst in 1999 not 2001.

that's very interesting. meanwhile as you stumble from tree to tree the rich are getting richer at our expense - can't end happily...

Yeah, it's too bad you don't have the opportunity to make a better life for yourself, that you can't work smarter and earn more money, that you can't join that richest 1%.
Oh, wait, I was wrong.
You can. :)

Not if you lack ambition and drive.:|

you're not one of the 1% - so you obviously lack ambition and drive :)

You have the same opportunity as everyone else. Difference being, while they are hard at work making their fortune, you are spending your time in an internet forum complaining about them having more than you.
Anybody besides me see a connection there? :S

Um, no... you're confusing opportunity with outcome...and still making the error that it's a zero-sum situation.

No, he's got ambition. But if the ambition and drive is to tear down others instead of build for himself, he's going to spend his life bitching that the system won't let him get ahead.

i'm well ahead. how about you?

Maybe not. Not everyone who has ambition and drive wants to be in that top 1%. I'm plenty happy where I am at. You obviously are not. Maybe you need to aquire more ambition and drive.

you'll find 99% can't

Bullshit. Plain, simple bullshit.
That's a cop-out line if there ever was one. The fact of the matter is that most people want everything given to them. They expect everything to come easy. But you know what? Wealth doesn't come easy but to a very rare few, maybe 10% of the wealthiest 1% inherited their fortunes. The rest worked their asses off to get where they are.
You have the same chance to make it as they did. Only a small portion of people in the US are honestly limited by physical or mental issues from achieving wealth.

1% rich means 99% aren't - that's maths for you :)

So to clarify, you're okay with someone who has earned their wealth, but have a problem with inheriting wealth (you mentioned Paris Hilton.)

If so, in what way has Paris Hilton launched an increasingly savage Class War?

I expect a direct answer like "Paris Hilton has contributed to Class Warfare by <______________________> "

But you won't give me one on. :S

They did - then they passed it on their heirs.

[Reply]i'm well ahead.

Then you cheated. How DARE you be ahead of anybody? Cheater. Give it back.

I'm well behind right now, actually. Without so much in taxes I'd have been able to pay off my student loans by now. The bum on the street has a greater net worth than I do.

>actually, they don't. who wants an educated housekeeper, driver, gardener,
>shop staff etc... competent yes, but not educated - that would be a waste of their
>money and a threat to their authority.

No, they want brilliant engineers, expert assemblers, clever accountants, well-spoken spokespeople and well-read business analysts. Why? Because they want to make even more money.

As to their housekeeper? I bet they want an excellent housekeeper, and would pay just as much for an excellent housekeeper with a high school diploma as one with a master's from MIT. Which one do you think would want the job?

>educated people tend to make their own money - and keep it themselves.

Making other people rich in the process. Which is why they are in demand.

Ah, I see, then what youy describe is an inability to focus his energy properly.

Come to thnk about it - I asked him about his taxes and he still isn't man enough to answer me.

All those repies and can't seem to muster up the ability to answer my tax question.

As far as bein the 1% . . . I am on my way, and I work for it instead of taking money from the government to support myself and my family.

Can you say the same?

"The Rich"? Can you name names?

I think the real problem in this world is "The Stupid".
