Beyond thinking that he is a dumb-ass I am not sure if it is a proportional response but then I haven't looked at what else he has said/done. DanG 1 #20 January 20, 2011 Read it. He's wrong. Foreigners have basic rights when under the jurisdiction of the US. Those basic rights are enumerated in the Constitution. The fact that you don't like it doesn't make it not so. We used to pride ourselves on our love of freedom and justice. It's a shame some Americans no longer feel that way. - Dan G
Andrewwhyte 1 #21 January 20, 2011 It's a very tricky situation. While Terry Jones is an asshole and of course has no rights in UK, the argument can be made that the rights of UK citizens are affected when the voices of foreigners are silenced. Here is a story about a British MP banned from entering Canada either for having the wrong political views or being a terrorist, depending on your point of view. Those who invited him felt their rights were infringed. Here is a story referencing the Federal judge's opinion on the matter.

Mr. Jones may be a bit misguided, but lets remember that he didn't go through with the book burning. He's simply outspoken about Islamic extremism just like many here are outspoken about his Christian extremism - which, btw pales in comparisson to Islamic terror. Personally I think the guy is to political and controversial to be pastoring a church effectively. If you don't want him to give speeches, fine - I couldn't care less. But let him see his family.Your secrets are the true reflection of who you really are...
