So egg cells and sperm are not part of the cycle of human life? Makes telling kids about sex easier, I guess. "Don't worry about the sex thing. Sex isn't part of it; you really only have to worry about conception."

So egg cells and sperm are not part of the cycle of human life? That's evidently what the biologists say. Quote Makes telling kids about sex easier, I guess. "Don't worry about the sex thing. Sex isn't part of it; you really only have to worry about conception." Way to COMPLETELY mis-respresent the argument, Bill. But while you're on the subject, maybe you can enlighten us mere mortals what a sperm cell or an egg cell develop into on their own? billvon 3,009 #181 March 11, 2011 >Ok, substitute uterus for petri dish, then - kindly show what a solitary egg or sperm is >going to develop into. Like I said, an egg without a sperm has as much chance to develop into a human as a zygote without a uterus. If you claim that sperm + egg are not a potential life unless they are combined, fine. But you then have to accept that the same is true of zygote + uterus.
