It sounds to me like it was the "mentor" who was out of line. The bigger the bureaucracy, the more spectacular the fuck up. But they never admit that they fucked up.

It doesn't surprise me at all. Discrimination against Wiccans, Santaria practitioners and atheists is commonplace in North American society. It is condoned in almost all areas. About twenty years ago the supposedly progressive NDP (socialist) party in BC removed a candidate after it was learned he was a Wiccan.

I was a federal contractor for a long time. Federal employees were no different from the non-federal employees I worked with (including when I was entirely in the private sector). Some good, some bad, most wanted to do a good job.

I don't disagree, I worked for DOD for a little while before going back to college. There was some great managers, and some really chitty ones. Same here in corporate amerika.
