There are not enough hours in the day to read this thread, but question.

Has anyone used Godwin's Law yet?

If it will make you happy . . . April 30 was the 66th anniversary of Hitler's bunker.

NPR just interviewed the head of BBC's Urdu office.
He reported three helicopters, and stated that the residents of the community were warned to stay indoors.
He didn't elaborate whether the warning came from the air or the ground, but mentioned that it led them to believe the warning came from a Pakistani organization.

...(and I never thought I'd say this) if I saw him right now, I'd want to shake his hand. He is the Commander-in-chief, he had to make the decision, and he did good. Give credit where it is due.

Hear, hear. Tough call by the CINC, but it was the right one. I'm really proud to call him my President today. He didn't wimp out like Jimmy Carter, that's for damn certain.

Some fine day all of what happened will be made public, but I'll bet the Chief feels like Admirals Nimitz and Halsey when they found out that those airmen had bagged Yamamoto. Obama deserves our appreciation and admiration for the way he and his staff managed the entire operation from start to finish.

And for the Seal who pulled the trigger and put one in OBL's noodle, he should get the Navy Cross. I'm proud of the President, but I've got chills up my spine over the incredible bravery our guys showed. Way to go, guys! Mere words cannot express my admiration!

...oh, and Zawahiri...YOU'RE NEXT, MOTHERFUCKER!!!>:(>:(>:(>:(>:(

My sentiments exactly. Osama Bin Laden, sorry no 72 virgins for you in paradise. More likely, you get 72 pineapples up your ass a day in hell, top first! >:(

All the others who collaborated with OBL who are still alive and hiding will get theirs, eventually. Fucking cocksuckers. :|

Here is a comment on AJ:

Indeed, it IS regrettable that he separated himself from the creator of all things. It was by his choice that this was so.
That he caused the death of men, women and children in indiscriminate enthusiasm is the worst that humanity can offer as an example and indeed a proof that the Islamic Iblis was correct and that the creator was wrong.
That many, many, many others are of the converse views and practices as he, a proof that the Islamic Iblis was wrong.
While my parents raised me to never rejoice in the death of any living creature, I can feel satisfied that a dangerous monster is gone. I can feel vindicated and even feel a level of vengeance and justice both were served for my family, as my cousin died in the south tower of the WTC.
So, I'll not rejoice, that is improper. I'll not celebrate, that is disgusting. I'll not gloat, that is beneath a proper person. I will simply say, good riddance to bad rubbish.

He was shot with a Colt rifle (Verified), it was most likely the new 7.62NATO rifle civilian model CM901 also known as the SOCOM 901

The pic is fake though, he would not have had a head left.

This is from a good source

Even a subsonic round with that much mass would have made a real mess.

They probably did not use subsonic in general as it would not penetrate blind barriers well.

Plus the helicopters would have given away the presence of troops.

So last night my x was playing bingo when it was announce that Bin laden was killed. The person making the announcement made the common mistake of referring to Bin Laden as "Obama' Stating that Obama has just been shot and killed, She was shocked at the number of people who applauded. There was then a moment of confusion until they announced the correct name.

A bullet to the brain is OK but waterboarding isn't? Can someone explain this to me?

Seriously? You're off the deep end on this one. According to accounts, he was given the option to surrender. He resisted. Bad move mother f'er. I shall not grieve his poor decision.

Just saw the Chairman of the House Homeland security committee on the news. He was saying that the info that got us Bin Laden came from waterboarding.

According to some reports, he had no choice. I'm not second guessing Obama or some of the posters on here who were so abhorrent in regards to waterboarding when Bush was President. What I don't understand is how they can be so vociferously against waterboarding but so jubilant about a bullet to the brain. I think you were one of them. Can you explain it to me?

He couldn't have explained it any more clearly.

Shooting him, unless you reject the claim as false, was necessary when he resisted capture. Waterboarding never is.

That article does have me puzzled.
I would have thought capture would have been preferred so we would have had a chance to get info out of him, e.g. "Where is al-Zawahiri?"

Of course the official story was he resisted. What else would they say if the real mission was just to kill him. Unless you are now going to claim this never happens in any kind of law enforcement procedures or military actions. If so, I'd say you have swallowed the "Official Story" hook line and sinker without even having the openmindedness to question the motives of our government. If so, I would encourage you to examine your biases.

Captured documents in the compound may provide a quicker way of getting info.

I couldn't agree more. It seems to me that would have been the better course of action. I can think of many ways that he could have been taken alive if that had been the goal. They had him contained, he was no threat to any civilians. Some gas in the ventilation system would have likely done the trick and now we would have a plethora of intel. There's more to this than is being told.

I almost feel sorry for Zawahiri - honest. Now the terrorist knows how it feels to be terrorized.

Ah yes.... When the subtleties of the real word fail you... Break out a semantic argument.

Funny, I am not "a specialist in Roman or modern civil law"... yet it is the first thing listed. I'd bet the people killed around OBL were not "specialists in Roman or modern civil law" either.... but I could be wrong.
