Far from it, You have heard of the national prayer breakfast? they are ones who put it on every year. They are ultra conservatives members of congress and the senate who live together in a condo on C street in DC. The whole focus is on extreme Christianity and they also have close ties to Uganda and the effort to execute or imprison gays for life.

The news is not so much what Uganda is doing, it's what some Christians with political ties in the US have done to help them.
