Maybe you self-professed "Christians" should agree on exactly what it is that you believe BEFORE you start proselytizing to the rest of us.

As it is you just look like a bunch of quarreling busybodying idiots.

So Kallend, you think Harold Camping represents traditional orthodox Christian thought? .

How would I know which particular Christian cult is right and which is wrong? You ALL look like nutters to me.

How do you know? Maybe it really happened and all the deserving people really did get taken up into Heaven.

Well even if that were true, there is still hope. There is always hope. Revelation 7 speaks of a great multitude who come out of the tribulation...

There is your judgment again, I now see how you would decide who should be allowed to own a firearm.

Anyone you do not admire or agree with is a nutter in your mind, therefore nobody but your idols should be allowed to avail themselves of a constitutional right.

There is that old saying that if you don't have anything nice to say, then don't say anything...

I think it's about time for me to heed that advice...I'm tired of being a dick just to one-up somebody.

It may have been fun at times, but it's not healthy. I just need to get away from that mind set even if I'm in jest...

I wish you all the best and apologize for offending people with anything other than the Gospel...

Godspeed!

:)

It's been fun, Coreece. Good luck with the rest of your journey.

I had the same revelation after reading kallend's post on scientific proof being ineffective.

What if we started threads on applied theology? Discuss how our faith and belief helps us live life on life's terms. How it shows us how to take personal responsibility.

Just a thought.
Look for the shiny things of God revealed by the Holy Spirit. They only last for an instant but it is a Holy Instant. Let your soul absorb them.

And hence you show your ignorance of the subject. You really have no idea what you're arguing against because you base your understanding of Christianity on what you see on the History Channel or the latest outlandish cult you see portrayed on the news. Worse yet, you're unwilling to learn. You're just "sure it's wrong" and we're all "nuts."

The more educated people are, the less likely they are to be religious.
As a "true believer" you'll have a long, uphill battle citing ignorance in any argument for religion that you make.

My Wife and I are both college educated. She is an OB/GYN Physician. Every adult in our extended families is college educated, most (on her side) with at least a Masters level. Her Dad was a Radiologist. I have another brother-in-law who's a Family Practice Physician. Another who has a mechanical engineering undergraduate, a Law Degree, and is now President of Birmingham Theological Seminary. We are all Christians except for one brother-in-law Materials Engineer PhD type who is in fact an atheist. Just don't think your theory with regard to educational level holds up very well.

1. You're family does not make a significant statistical sample. (I thought you'd have known that...did you take Stastics in college?)
2. It's not my theory. It's been shown to be true in several studies.:

BTW, Not only is it that the more educated people are, the less religious they are, but also the more intelligent people are, the less likely they are to be religious. Seems like that "PHD Type" in your family isn't the anomaly...you are...Or is what you read in these links wrong?

I have no idea what any of this has to do with the fact that (by his own words) Kallend has no idea what he's talking about or arguing against with regard to theology. (Yes, I have had statistics). And you are obviously as prone to gross generation as he is.

I don't think being religious means you're stupid (and being an atheist doesn't make you smart) but your statement: "Just don't think your theory with regard to educational level holds up very well" is sorta contradicted by your experience with your own family. In your family, the person with the highest level of education is an atheist.

So what did you think of the links? Did you see yourself in there somewhere?

Point taken with regard to statistics. Not sure that has anything to do with the validity of what they believe, however. By the way, you're saying a PhD has more education than a MD? My wife had a 4 year residency after 4 years of medical school....then through 3 step boards for certification.

Ok...follow closely.
The less educated people are more likely to be religious.
The less intelligent people are more likely to be religious.
(Hence, RonD's quote" The mind is a terrible thing")

In your opinion, which group is more prone to false belief...the more intelligent/educated group, or the less intelligent/educated group? (just asking your opinion here...there is no "wrong" answer)

That's fine, but I kinda like how the atheists dominate the creation of religious threads here in SC...it's a beautiful harmonic of irony against their notion of us shoving our beliefs down their throat.

The bottom line is that if we continue to discuss our faith in these forum, we will have to be all the more dilligent to pass the faithful test against antagonism.

You might have a point if you could say that intelligent, educated people don't believe in God, but you can't...so you have to twist your unreliable information in order to render that illusion visible to the less intelligent, uneducated people while the intelligent, educated and honest people who are capable of critical thinking see through your intellectual dishonesty...oh, the vanity!;)
