jaybird18c 24 #26 May 20, 2011 QuoteSo if a person strictly follows the guidelines of pretty much any of the other 38,000 christian denominations, (not to mention the 5 billion people of other religions), then they're going to hell. Got it. One doesn't go to hell because they fail to follow the particular tenets of some denomination/religion or even if they've never heard of Jesus. If they go to hell, it's because they've not kept God as their top priority, worshipped other gods or lack thereof, taken God's name in vain, lied, stolen, lusted, coveted, dishonored parents, etc.

stevebabin 0 #28 May 20, 2011 Sorry, I had to correct a figure I posted earlier... There are only 33,800 different denominations of christianity. Jaybird, I'm glad you picked the right one. Otherwise, we will be held accountable for what we've done. If anyone is in heaven right now, it is because they repented and placed their trust in Jesus Christ. millertime24 8 #40 May 21, 2011 Ive got a question. Why is this loony getting as much attention as he is? Lets face FACTS here. 1. Anyone can read the Bible and interpret it in any number of different ways. 2. This is a really OLD guy ranting on and on. Why the hell does some old fart get all this attention because of something they choose to believe in? I've got a damn good speculation as to why he may believe what he does. As I've said, HE'S OLD!!! Old people often seek ways to "ease their mind", as it were, about post death matters. It seems to me that this guy is scared out of his mind of dieing. He WANTS the rapture to happen soon (because he ain't got long left). Anywho, that's my assumption as to why he may think the way he does, but the question still remains. WHY THE HELL DOES ANYONE CARE WHAT THIS GUY SAYS? For the record, I didn't even know about any of this before today (guessing because I spend more time on porn sites then I do news ones). SpeedRacer 1 #41 May 21, 2011 He gets this much attention because he is on the radio and has followers putting up billboards, driving vans, and handing out fliers. That's the difference between him and chuteless. Speed Racer --------------------------------------------------

So the idea that there will indeed be a day of judgment soon, per Biblical prophecies - kooky cults. The idea that there's a fiery hell where am evil devil will endlessly torment souls who have strayed from the path a given religious sect dictates - perfectly reasonable. All I can hope for is that she put her faith in Jesus Christ before she died or else her sins are not forgiven. That's all one can hope for anyone. The Jews know the prophecy They understand the Passover. Many have understood and believed that the Passover points to fulfilment in Jesus Christ. The real question here, though, isn't Anne Frank. She's gone and her fate is sealed either way. The question is how are you going to atone for your sins? What are you going to do when you die and have to stand before God and give an account? It's coming. Probably not tomorrow but nevertheless.

ChrisL 2 #49 May 21, 2011 Untold millions have never and will never even have the opportunity to learn about Jesus Christ, let alone accept him as their savior. According to your belief these people, men, women, and children will all burn in hell forever because they have not accepted that Jesus is their savior. They were doomed to eternal torment from the day they were conceived. What a ludicrous notion. No loving god would ever put a system like this in place. Whatever comes next is what awaits us all, regardless of race, creed, religion, nationality, or gender, or even species. The notion that god rewards the just and punishes the wicked still exists only because people are angry about the shit that goes on in the world and afraid of the unknown that awaits us all__ My mighty steed

You are indeed selling a crock of shit with all the trimmings. I have a conscience. I recieved it through evolution, the teaching of my parents, and my experiences during my formative years. I know that when I was born that I was absolutely not guilty of anything. I know that when I die, I will return to nothingness. I came from nothing...it wasn't that bad.(paraphrasing Dr. Kevorkian). I'm completely OK with that. Your mythical god has nothing to do with reality. If it did, there would be objective evidence of it. I have no clue why you need some magic carrot/stick approach to live a good life. I have no idea why you believe in things that make absolutely no rational sense in order feel worthwhile. I don't need those things, and I resent it when your kind shoves it down the throats of those too weak minded to see through your bullshit."Science, logic and reason will fly you to the moon.
