I used to live like you. Consider, your best thinking got you in this position. It is no wonder you are so disappointed.

I opted out earlier because there's no way to win a debate or even begin to reason with someone whose position, by its very nature, requires absolutely no proof and cant be substantiated.
When people start quoting scripture to back up their views (as if it wasnt written and assembled into one volume by different men at different times throughout history) its all over so thats where I stopped.

Some Atheists believe in the 9/11 conspiracy crap as well. We've got an example of one who posts on this forum.
Right. Not exactly sure where I made any link between religiosity and tendency to believe in conspiracy theories but hey, whatever. Good point. Well done.
(Although I'm pretty sure Rhys identifies as an agnostic strongly leaning towards the existence of some kind of mysterious cosmic force)

"A man sees in others what he knows of himself." Socrates
You imagine others as being univerasally subject to your limitations. This is most certainly not the case.
Socrates is correct. We can only see ourselves in others. That is what draws you into these arguments. You know that we have something that you don't have. Something in you desires it and fights against it at the same time. It is called cognitive dissonance. It bothers you and yet you are not able to accept the resolution. Therefore, you project your internal conflict outward and try to change us from catalyst to cause.
Your guesses regarding the motivation of others are wrong across the board.

Well, if you guys are gonna continue to call Christians uneducated morons day after day as if that was the basis of their faith, then you may want prove that point absolutley, otherwise the pratical significance of that statement is as effective as calling someone a poopey face.

It seems a shame to suffer from another person's good fortune.

The question is how are you going to atone for your sins? What are you going to do when you die and have to stand before God and give an account? It's coming. Probably not tomorrow but nevertheless.
Thats easy to answer. There is no God. I don't have to atone for shit. I will not have to "give an account" to any fairy tale being after death. I will simply die and ceast to exist. What's sad is when you die you will never know that you wasted so much of your time and effort while alive for nothing.
I feel sorry for you. I really do mean that. Such a waste. I wish I could help you see the light. Free your mind. Take the blindfold off, but I can't. Religion has done it's job and has fully deluded you to the point of no return. I just hope you don't infect to many other people before you go.

You are truly blessed. I believe that. However, you have stated over and over that it all falls apart as soon as you leave SDC and venture into the community. There you have to march where everyone is out of step but you.
Some good stuff here also.

I realize that, if a junkie offers me heroin, it is the nicest thing he can do. The smack is what makes life for him worthwhile, and the day to day indignities tolerable.
It does not dawn upon the junkie that becoming like him is a truly repellent prospect.
"You're just jealous, since I got the dope and you don't."
"Thanks, but you can have mine."
As crutches go, religion has a lot less to recommend it than narcotics or alcohol.
Going from one disease of denial to another is hardly admirable.

Credulous, not undeducated; and mental illness is quite distinct from intellect.
There is no God
I don't believe in any man made Gods. Because of this, I reject Christianity, Islam, the Jewish faith and all other man made religions. But the Universe is mind boggling. It's origins are just beyond anything we will ever know. Is the Universe just some random occurrence or is there something or someone behind it? We as humans will never know. Because of this I am agnostic and I will never understand why atheists feel they are 100% certain there is nothing behind the Universe. Is there life after death? Probably not. But the creation of the Universe through the "Big Bang" where something was created out of nothing is simply mind boggling.

Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
Kmart 0
And, given the obvious design/completely of the universe, you believe that everything came from nothing, blew up, and became, by some blind force of nature, an organized everything. Don't get me wrong, I greatly admire your faith.
Actually, you are the one that believes everything was created from nothing. Or do you believe everything was here already and god just arranged it? If so then where did everything come from? If you say God created it then you are saying it came from nothing.
And why do you pretend to know his exact thoughts on the origin of the universe? You seem to think that every atheist thinks the same exact things. Atheism is not a religion. There is no belief system for atheists. Get it?
When religious folk ask me how I think the universe was created I ask them where did your god come from. How did your god come into existance? Whatever answer they can give me for god's existance, I can give that same exact answer for the existance of the universe.

With all due respect, an MD is not an educational degree; it's a technical/vocational degree. One can only hope that some education came along with it.
That makes absolutely no sense.

Till you run out of time, that is.

I will simply die and ceast to exist.
To many, the fear of this is far too terrifying to live with
so they cling to primitive mythologies like a drowning person clings to
a life preserver.
You cant pry their fingers loose no matter how hard you might try.
They do what they have to do to be happy. Dont hate them for it.

Yeah, if. As it is though that's not what Steve Babin has been saying, so the rest of your post is irrelevant.
You are the only person here talking about absolutes and, again, it shows that you don't have a fucking clue.

Jump out of an airplane without a parachute. As longn as you don't believe in gravity, you'll be alright. Right? Stand out in the middle of a busy street as long as you don't believe in big trucks. You'll be alright. Right? The light in the tunnel is either going to be the light at the end or an oncoming train. It will either "free your mind" and lead you to the truth....or squash you like a bug. One way or the other, however, you will meet the train. Your conscience informs you of this. You won't admit it but you know (because the rest of us all do) that lying is wrong. Have you lied? "All liars will have their part in the lake of fire." What you're doing now is dancing around inside of the plane with the music blaring, having a great time, about to jump out without your parachute on. You have no idea when that "green light" is going to come on.

Don't leave out a saucer of milk at night if you don't believe in boggarts. Walk under a ladder if you don't believe in luck. Don't bother leaving protective charms over a cot if you don't believe in changelings.
Dude, I do appreciate that you have the best of intentions and you genuinely want to help, but your overwhelming fear of the completely imaginary is hilarious.
