And how about the opening to the linked article

Freedom of information laws are used to harass scientists, says Nobel laureateSir Paul Nurse says climate scientists are being targeted by campaigns of requests designed to slow down their research

So the twisting is yours dude

So did you see this?

Or just ignore it for a reason only you know?

But I have been consistant. The twists have come from you trying to reframe the debate

Eh? Example 1) You say he thinks he's above the law. I ask why you think he thinks he's above the law.

Example 2) I ask you why you think he thinks he is above the law. You say he's a crybaby.

Which is a twist or a reframing, 1 or 2?

And, again, explain to me why you think that he believes he should be above the law. Explain that to me, with reference to what he actually said.

The guy is a whinner. He does not like being required to give out data and info from his (or anybody elses) research. He is asking for a review

"The review – expected to be published next year – will examine ways of improving access to scientific data and research papers...

Nurse said that, in principle, scientific information should be made available as widely as possible as a matter of course...

"It is essential that scientists are as open and transparent as possible and, where they are not, they should be held to account."....

Nurse said that scientists were not blameless. At the University of East Anglia, they were too defensive in their responses to freedom of information requests over climate change, but their experience was one among many that highlighted a need for better training for scientists in the most appropriate way to respond to information requests...

He [Ward] added that the best way for scientists to respond was with more openness. "Scientists are going to have to get used to the idea that transparency means being transparent to your critics as well as your allies. You cannot pick and choose to whom you are transparent,"
"

You're kidding, right?

(Oh, and if you're going to pretend you didn't link to this article in a liberal UK newspaper (not your usual stomping ground) because of it's frequent references to climate scientists, you're a barefaced fucking liar.)

Yes, The Guardian. What do you think The Guardian is? Is it a liberal UK newspaper, perhaps? Do you think that Rush is in the habit of reading the science pages of liberal UK newspapers? Is he in tha habit of linking to their stories?

What point is it you think you have here?

Well since the only thing you have provided in this entire thread are rants against the personality of the guy being interviewed in the article then you must have known from post 1 that your argument was stupid.

And while you're still here, any time you want to actually answer a question...

I have answered your questions
You just don’t agree with the answer

It would also be a big help if you would ask one that has some relevance.

Show me. Here's the question "Explain to me why you think that he believes he should be above the law. Explain that to me, with reference to what he actually said." - where's the answer? N.b. "He's a crybaby" is not an answer.

Show me anything I've asked you that has not been a direct response to something you said.

Alternatively, how about you just stop dicking about and answer the questions? You seem so sure of your opinions, it should be easy for you.

Then why did you post something you knew to be untrue?

Wrong.

You: So all the scientists have to do is post all their papers on a web site, which anyone can access online, without them having to respond to each and every individual request. Simple, open, impossible to criticize.

Article: "I have been told of some researchers who are getting lots of requests for, among other things, all drafts of scientific papers prior to their publication in journals, with annotations, explaining why changes were made between successive versions.

See?
