Zep 0 #1 June 9, 2011 I'm looking for a new toy on the low end of the semi automatic market. I don't really want to spend more than 500€ The choice at the moment is between a Remington SPR453. Baikal MP153 or the Hatsan consort ps I don't want any wooden furniture and it has to be capable of firing 3" magnums ideally I would be able to buy a rifled barrel as an after sales option. I'm being swayed at the moment by the Hatsan with a 61cm barrel as it comes with the option of a 10cm screw in extension and 5 poly chokes at a price of 399€ Anyone have or used any of these guns, opinions Gone fishing
DougH 270 #2 June 9, 2011 I really want to get a saiga 12. That is going to be my next purchase, if they don't ban it here in the US before I can get the clams to buy one. wsd 0 #6 June 9, 2011 Quote Saiga 12 is on my short list of next long barrel gun to purchase too I would not mind having one, but only if it was a dirt cheap deal. This is because I would be ditching many of its parts to begin with. I already have a Benelli M1 tactical and a rifled slug bbl as well for it. Ghost rings and a scout scope setup, what more could you need?
Zep 0 #7 June 10, 2011 Steger 2000. No thank you, it's connected with Franchi and I have a Franchi from hell, won't recycle 28's I would'nt give it away let alone sell it to some poor bugger. It'll probablly end up being smelted Gone fishing
wsd 0 #8 June 10, 2011 Stoeger is owned by Benelli. I know someone who has 20k rounds out of the Stoeger 2000. It did launch an ejector, I got him a new one and loctited the screw in. Those 20K rounds were goose loads as well.

Zep 0 #11 June 13, 2011 Benelli's are a great, I'm sure that if they made a shotgun in the price range and with the accesories I want I'd seriuosly consider buying one. Gone fishing

Actually, from personal experience, you can't beat a Remington. Although I typically rate shotguns based on a different set of metrics than most people, I have used Remingtons in ways that should have blown out the barrell on many occasions and they have always come through strong. wsd 0 #14 June 13, 2011 Not all Benelli's are the same, my M1S90 tactical has been through nearly anything you can throw into it other than some of those stupid gimmick shells. It just keeps running without a problem. The M1014 or M4 has had a few problems, the other semi autos can have a problem such as the SBE. Too bad they stopped making the M1S90
Zep 0 #15 June 13, 2011 Have any of you seen the video promos for the Baikal mp 153. Thats preety impresive. Havent got a clue how it patterns but under extreme conditions it's impessive. Gone fishing

Its called a Remington 870 and a hacksaw!!! Yeah but then I can't legally carry that sucker concealed! At least I don't think so, I haven't looked into shotty's much. I did build my own AR15 pistol which I can conceal carry. That is if I can fit it down my pants, under my shirt, etc. I have a nice tennis racket bag I carry it in for now. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Rap is to music what etch-a-sketch is to art. Zep 0 #19 June 14, 2011 Don't you guys have an 18" minimum law I suppose if you stick 18" down the front of your pants some redneck bitch will go OOOOOOOOOH. I've decided that next springs project will be a sub calibre sub sonic suppressor. I'll probably get the sucker stuck half way down the barrel, But if I don't try I won't know. BrokenR1 0 #20 June 14, 2011 16" for rifles, and I think shotguns too. But my AR15 pistol is a pistol so there are no length requirements. it currently has a 4.5" barrell and a flash "director" The Super Shorty shotgun would be similar but be considered an "Any Other Weapon" which needs special approval and a $5 tax stamp. I have an M4 with an 11" barrel and 5" flash suppressor to meet the 16" requirement. LongWayToFall 0 #23 June 14, 2011 I should have posted mine on here, I sold one a year ago... They are very fun guns. I will say a couple things about them: They are made for heavy rounds. I did have a couple bad ejections with bird shot, but never with buck or slugs. (yes I moved the gas port to the proper position). You can buy modified parts that help with the gas problem if you are determined to shoot light loads, but who would want to with this thing? I converted mine, which was very fun. I recommend it... Last thing I can think of, is to buy quality magazines. The only ones I would trust my life with are the saiga factory mags. (maybe there are some aftermarket that are fine, but not that I have seen). Hope u saved up for ammo too, this gun chugs away on it, that is for sure haha. If shorter you must be in a state that allows it and pay for and receive a tax stamp from the BATFE.
