nigel99 466 #260 August 11, 2011 The BPA idea is a fairly good one. To make it work I think it would need to be static line. To be honest though there are cheaper and safer outreach programs that could be run. For example high ropes, wilderness camping (just avoid the polar bears). Personally I find the UK a terrible environment for teenagers unless you have fairly significant disposable income. We do not have alot of low cost high energy outlets for teens. Surfing, hiking, BMX tracks, wild camping, mountain climbing, skiing, snowboarding, windsurfing and the list goes on. None of this is readily available to middle England. The result is that teens "hang". You want to know a simple suggestion? Give up the sacred cow of village commons and woods being areas of quiet. Put in some basic rules and let the kids ride mini-motos. Don't require oversight and health and safety, just give them some freedom.Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived. We 'ad nowt and didn't go out robbing... Parents used to do things with their kids (great PM earlier BTW) - didn't have to cost much - but dads played cricket & football etc... - with gangs of kids..... Actually spent TIME with their own off-spring (imagine that) and if any of them (not just their own) were 'out of line' they'd get a sorted out without their own parents beating the shite out of the one that did it. Time to get BACK to EVERYONE looking out for EVERYONE else. (.)Y(.) nigel99 466 #263 August 11, 2011 Maybe I am biased/screwed up. My kids have inherited my dislike of ball games. I grew up in Africa where I spent my early teen years fishing, shooting and camping in the wild. I agree that things should not have to cost much. QuoteWe 'ad nowt and didn't go out robbing... StreetScooby 5 #275 August 11, 2011 Ann Coulter at her best here... http://www.anncoulter.com/columns/2011-08-10.html Quote But like Louis XVI, British authorities are paralyzed by their indifference to their own civilization. A half-century of berating themselves for the crime of being British has left them morally defenseless. They see nothing about England worth saving, certainly not worth fighting for -- which is fortunate since most of their cops don't have guns.
