JohnRich 4 #1 September 19, 2011 Why is it that liberals think teenagers should have to get their parent's permission to order french fries at a restaurant, but also think that those same teenagers should be allowed to get abortions with no questions asked? Are french fries more dangerous than abortions?
billvon 3,006 #2 September 19, 2011 Why are conservatives offended when the government tells them what to do with their guns, but are fine when the government tells a woman what to do with her body? Do gun owners really have more rights than women? And yes, I am OK with a provision in the law that allows abortions without parental consent in cases where such consent might be dangerous to the child. No child was ever beaten to death for ordering french fries.

It does say that one restaurant company has decided to change the standard sides with a children's meal from fries to fruit, with fries available on request. Now to my mind it stands to reason that a child ordering a child's meal will usually need their parents' permission to change that side to fries because, lets face it, they need their parents' permission to order anything - their parents are going to be sitting next to them paying for the meal. I see no indication, though, that a teenager eating out without parental presence will not be able to order whatever they want. Except from the wine list, obv.Do you want to have an ideagasm? Andy9o8 2 #10 September 20, 2011 QuoteFrench Fries versus Abortion As a meal, I'd have to go with abortion. Higher in protein, lower in bad cholesterol. And with a good wine (red, of course): I'd still prefer abortion. Beer, on the other hand, does seem to compel freedom fries, I'll grant that.
