Israeli/Palestinian Prisoner Swap

Recommended Posts

Israel releases over 1,000 prisoners for one person Gilad Shalit. That speaks volumes to some of those that value life so much as to send women and young people to die for their cause.

I am curious to hear the anti-Zionist sentiment in light of this.

...

No wonder this thread is a day late.

I won't be surprised if Hamas kidnaps more Israelis.

Its like the do gooders who buy people out of slavery in Africa. All it does is increase the value of the slave which leads to more slavery.

I have mixed feelings about it. It is both a great strength of the Israeli society and a weakness that is being used by its enemies.

When the deal was signed, the best way I could describe me feeling was: "Today I am proud of Israel for doing something so wrong just because it is so right..."

And on the other side, I feel sorry for a society that welcomes mass murderers as national heros.

Meanwhile 11 prisoners, who were deemed by Israel to be too dangerous to stay in the West Bank or Gaza, were greeted in the Turkish capital Ankara by Palestinian ambassador Nabil Marouf and Turkish officials.

I am happy that Gilad Shalit is home with his family, however, how many innocent people will now die because people responsible for plotting suicide attacks were released?

It would be nice if this gesture of good will lead to peace, but as I have said before, Hamas only wants death and destruction, it's what keeps them in power.
